Leverage? No. Just respect. If you had to make a tough decision and wanted to go be alone to think about it... that would be fine. Somehow though if someone else wants to go pray about it... it isn't fine with some of you.

Not exactly sure what you are getting at here but the axiom that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it holds very true.

The course being proposed by Progressives has been tried in various forms throughout history. It always fails and results in either some form of totalitarian state or else social disintegration. Freedom always works... until people begin to think they can improve it by removing personal responsibility.

4. Refusing to read Glenn Beck does not mean that one is refusing from taking in many different and various points of view.

Absolutely agree. I have never read one of his books or even an article he's written. I have "Common Sense" but have not read it. As best as I can recall, I have never even watched one of his shows from beginning to end. In total content from various shows... I have probably seen 5 shows worth of material since he started his TV show.

I greatly prefer serious thinkers like Sowell.

I think it is important to let others express and justify their own pov's though. It may not seem that I do that here however I am VERY interested in why people think what they think. That's usually why I challenge people. What people think is usually pretty simple to figure out... "Why" is far more important and interesting.

I often disagree with IPOrange. But I do respect him for being thoughtful. To a large degree I think he knows what he is embracing and why and what he is rejecting and why.

As of 10:10 pm est 3 days before the dead line, Reid doesn't have enough votes to pass his own bill out of his senate.

If the above mentioned is considered a "train wreck" I guess its safe to consider this one the same.
