The TP officially turns on Boehner

It's Thursday.

We don't go to church on Thursday.

We sit at computers and watch guys passing worms ... I mean judgement.

Well, a handful of TP GOP Reps went to church to seek divine guidance on how to vote (ie, to justify thir "no" vote to the radical Christian right base).

Are you serious?!?!

If true, this is exactly the kind of thing that freaks people out about right wing Republicans -- that they'll govern based on religious doctrine or "intervention."

Please tell me you are joking.

Not joking; check out FoxNews.

you'd think what the argument would be about is what to spend the money on.

how can people not agree to spend only as much or less than what we collect in tax revenue?

the sad thing is none of the plans that have been put forward do jack.

As of 7:04, Boehner doesn't have the votes to get his own proposal out of the House because of the TP.

What a freakin' train wreck.

As of 7:04 pm, Obama still hasn't proposed a plan that can be scored by the CBO or voted on by Congress. Harry Reid has proposed a plan and had it laughed off the floor of the Senate.

Train wreck? Indeed.

Really LG? So what do you say about Rangel who makes no bones about his opinion that it is a religious duty to tax and transfer wealth?

Who said anywhere that anyone was governing by religious doctrine?

Worldviews are informed by someone's religious and philosophical beliefs. Yours are. Mine are. therealUT's are. Obama's are. EVERYONE.

FTR, do you have a problem with the fact that Franklin called for prayer when the constitutional convention became deadlocked... or that the deadlock was afterwards overcome?

there are three groups of people here.

1. the democrats who aren't going to cave on anything and aren't going to put forth their own proposal with a political strategy to rip to shreds anything put forth by the republicans.

2. the republicans who, while showing more backbone than normal, are willing to not do anything substantial in order to avoid looking like the bad guy.

3. the tea party members. a small group of people who actually are trying to pass a responsible bill and didn't come to washington to play ball and kick the can down the road.

i don't know how anyone can honestly support any deal that does not control spending, regardless of who puts it forward.

I formally apologize for every bad thing I have ever said to or about you. That was very, very well put.

Thank you sir.:hi:

Yet, ask them if they have read Beck's "Common Sense". Every TPer I have met, to include my brother, looks at that book as scripture.

Have you read it, or like most ignorantly comment on it without turning a page? and if you have read it, what part did you take issue with?

Your obviously a racist!

if only the republicans realized that no matter what they do they will be accused of killing the elderly, taking food from starving children, beating up the handicapped, and officially putting an end to joy and happiness.

or they understand it, and the republicans are just as guilty as the democrats.

I choose not to read it; I have had plenty of sections of it repeated to me by my brother and I have listened to enough Glenn Beck on the radio to know that I have no use for him, his chicken little outlook, and his Islamaphobia.

Maybe they are taking Reid's quote and not wasting the time. Or is he lying about the bill being DOA when it gets to the senate?

It is for this reason that Congress needs to do away with omnibus bills.

All of these issues should be parceled out into individual bills:

Medicare - 50% cut voted on by the House; 20% cut voted on by the Senate; joint committee compromises at 35%; passes both chambers.

Each issue could and should be dealt with in this manner, and it makes Congress both more efficient and more transparent.
