Worst field I've seen since 2001 Notre Dame. This HAS to be done on purpose. A local lawn care service could create a better surface than that. Last week it was even longer and shabbier and ½ dead looking. In 7 days it was bright green and slightly shorter, but the surface was absolutely horrific.
If this was not a purposeful setup by Oklahoma in order to gain an advantage, then their entire grounds crew needs to be fired immediately and replaced. It's September for goodness sakes, there's no reason for this grass to not be anything other than spectacular on game 4 of the season in good weather!

Broken leg would have been better and a chance he played again this year. Dislocated ankle no way he sees the field.

The SEC should make OU remove several rows of seats on the sidelines... Major Safety Issue... I know it has been this way for years, but....

Oklahoma fans on reddit said they had never seen their field in this bad of shape and it didn't look like this earlier in the season.

Sure it slowed us down but they lost one of their best defenders to a season ending injury and still lost the game. They came away looking pretty dumb and like they don't care about their players.

Intrigued by this I am. Have there been any statements about it from the Vol HQ from either coaches, players, or admin?

It looks like to me OU installed new sod this week not giving it enough time to take root. Not saying that’s the case it just kind of looked like and played that way.

A couple of times I thought a flag had been thrown but it was a chunk of turf.

I saw one of their players pick up and throw off the field a big dirt clod that he about tripped over.
