WR weren't getting open, however Nico pocket presence while the pocket collapsed around him... gives me a gloomy out look on the games to come. The Win is great, getting outta there with everyone healthy even better. They better fix him holding onto the ball.

Yo there Double D. Haven't seen any of your posts for a while. How you doin these days. Hope all is well with you.
Doing damn fine brother. I had to get myself together and it wasn't easy but as the old saying goes"When you wake up in the middle of Hell. Get your ass up and start walking." I made it out the other side and I'm doing better than I've done in many years. Great to be back among my family.

How you doing Hoss?

Doing well Friend. Bloodwork every three months to stay on top of it. Been in remission for 4 1/2 years now. Love seeing my Vols doing great.

What are OU players and fans saying about the field? They have to be a little pissed after losing so many to injuries this early. Someone who goes on other message boards might see similar ranting.

Venables got a little heated in his post game press conference when a reporter asked about all the injuries like it was a moronic question. He implied injuries happen, they are just part of the game. While mostly true we all saw that garbage field and players slipping constantly, it was a disaster waiting to happen. At some point someone in that athletic department has to take some responsibility and fix the issue. Its been a problem all year. I do feel they tried to take advantage and manipulate the field but it backfired. Maybe the garbage field played into some of Heupel's play calling and we just wanted to get out in one piece.

I haven't seen too much discussion about the field conditions at Oklahoma, it was horrendous. It appeared to me as though Oklahoma wet down the field to slow our guys down. I have no inside info or anything, but it was questionable. If their field is always this bad, the SEC needs to step up and demand improvement. The field was dangerous. It might have backfired on them after we got the lead and were able to just run the ball up the middle and they were playing catch up on a bad field. I also think the field conditions were one of the reasons we went so conservative. I don't think I have ever seen a college game with a field in this bad of shape. What do you think?

South Carolina's field in 2022 was pretty bad.

There's been plenty of discussion about the state of the field, it's just not had its own thread, I think.

Two questions:
How do you look in black and white stripes? And how do you feel about a career in SEC officiating?

Carolina’s sucked.

Seems like this was intentional. Grass grown out that long and wet? I kind of take pride in they did everything possible to prepare to slow us down and even with our tackles banged up it still wasn’t enough.

True, but if they knew their cleats would have been longer. And yes, I do wear a tin foiled hat
True. Some of us remember OSU accusing TN of being unethical because they changed cleats on a wet field at halftime. TN was prepared due to the weather forecast. In this case, TN had no reason to bring a second set of cleats based on weather conditions and OK gained an advantage by knowing they were saturating the field. Still got their asses kicked.

If the SEC is serious about player safety, they need to look into field conditions. I wouldn't want to watch AL and GA play on such a field, even though I wouldn't mind a few non serious injuries to either team such as sprained ankle or pulled hammy, that would not heal in time for TN game for either team. But seriously, this was a major safety issue.

These field conditions are absolutely terrible.

Surprised this isn’t causing more injuries.
Thanks for consolidating my thread to this one. Should have known you had already discussed topic. Just missed it. I did like my title to the thread better though. lol

Hendon hooker tore his ACL because of South Carolina’s trash field. Now we’ve lost John Campbell potentially, and an OU player is hurt as well. This is a controllable issue, and it needs to be addressed. If schools can’t maintain standards relative to the condition of their fields, they should be liable to fines and sanctions.
He tore his acl because they knew what play we were running.
