The Tyler Bray thread (merged)

The telling thing there is Gruden is talking about why he'll be a mid rounder.... not why he won't get drafted. There's more to this than effort I think.

I watched the video jacka$$. I know what he said, He said, " a 7 or 8."

I don't need a dumb link to tell me somthing I watched 10 times.

Thought you may need a refresher. You got a problem with it, take it up with Tyler. He's the one who said it.

I didn't realize I was talking to midfielders girlfriend.

FTR, I hope Tyler has a long & successful career.

Good day.

Without Tyler Bray, Hunter and Patterson aren't early round picks this year. I am amazed how many people fail to realize how good our passing offense was and how poor our defense was. He doesn't play both ways.

Imagine what would have happened if a QB (or any player for that matter) was not preparing for an SEC game or had made the statement "who wants to go to a crappy bowl anyways".......when Al Wilson was on the team.

The thing that bothered me was Glennon of NC State got drafted over Bray. If Bray had his faults in the eyes of NFL scouts and GMs, how did Glennon get any love?.

I was listening to a career NFL backup QB a while a back on radio and he said things like leadership and maturity are more important for backup QB because coaches want leadership on their practice squad. Throwing for a bunch of yards in college is not as important because the 3rd string QB is never going to see the field anyway.

It's the idiotic old-school thoughts that still haven't left football. When a team wins, it's the quarterbacks glory. When the team loses, it's all their fault. I LOVE JHunt and CP but a lot of those moments Tyler "choked" in were caused by dropped passes by the both of them. No negative things are said about those two though. CP lost the Georgia game, and Hunter dropped a TD vs Bama that would've put us down a TD and like 3 first down catches vs. Florida. TD celebrations getting called back, getting crushed on his blind side by Clowney on a come-back drive, never hear any of that.

You can type all the crap you want.....

I know what I saw.

I saw a kid with a rocket for a arm, outstanding deep ball, great pocket awareness, 6'6, knows when to throw it away........etc etc

Dude can ball with the best of them.

Crap? His stats. The games, the drive charts which show every play of the game.

I don't know anybody who disputes his arm, certainly not me. It's the rest. Great players make great plays when the game is in the balance. He didn't prove he could do that in his time here, that's not to say he won't in the future.

I'm not bashing him, he has a resume, in SEC games... he has statistics in SEC games...there is video...and, there are his own words. The Gruden thing, man oh man that was bad. Everyone's pointed out the blatant ones...When they went to the chalk board and talked about quarters and Gruden asked him how many were in coverage underneath and TB said "7" twice...maybe he was confused, nervous... man.

I agree with some, that there might be some other under lying issues that may have effected his draft status.

The point of my post was to point out there were chances to win those games. That's what I remembered, maybe it doesn't matter.

I fail to realize that our fans don't realize he wasn't playing against our defense. He's not getting graded on what he did against our defense. His won loss record is only a small part of his evaluation. Other than did he finish in close games where he had an opportunity, the won/loss is not important.

His stats are good but misleading. How did he do at crunch time, in the fourth utter, when the game was on he line. Not vey good, if you honestly asses it.

He quit with several others against Vandy. No excuse. The NFL brass notices things like that. He also quit against UK last year.

His stats are only misleading if you look at the bottom line which includes OOC games.

If you break it down by just the SEC games, they are what they are. 53.7% pass completion percentage. That's not good.

Career TD/INT ratio: 34 TD's / 23 INT's , that's not very good.

his career comp.% vs. Ga. State was 90%

his career comp.% vs UK(worst team in the SEC) was 50%

his career comp. % vs Bama(best) was 43%
