NDU and WFU kicking it off. Notre Dame sporting more of that Addidas nightmare jersey magic.

Good to see Greensboro looking fairly active for the first day; hopefully it holds suit with the tournament being a day longer now.

Virginia Tech blew it. At the line, down by 1 with 11 seconds left and can't make one

Georgia Tech will beat Boston College but that is about it. GT needs to look for a new head basketball coach. GT needs another Bobby Cremins!

Maryland got exactly what they deserved.

The ACC is a better football and basketball conference without them.

The Big 10 is no better with them.

Thank goodness FSU won that game. Had Maryland won the ACC on its way out, I may have never watched the conference tourney again. Lucky me.

In related news, FSU remains as my favorite for dark horse, followed by Pitt and NC State.

My favorites are UVA, Duke, and UNC. I honestly can't pick just one though. Conference has too much parity this year, imo. And regarding Syracuse, I just don't see them capable of sustaining three straight wins against high quality opponents atm.

Side note: that game between Seton Hall and Nova was incredible.

They could very well do it. As I said above, I believe they are the best dark horse candidate.

And they are always good in the acc tournament. They are big long and pretty talented. Virginia has been better all year and certainly defends better, but in conference tournament bball ill take fsu

Didn't Missouri win the Big 12 tournament on its way out? I bet that commissioner just loved having to hand them that trophy after that.

Yeah, but they got a lot more money for their very much in the red athletic department (weren't they having to cut sports/programs because of it?).

Got what they deserved, definitely. But they're also going to get what they wanted/needed as well.

Oh I agree.

But don't mistake Maryland getting what they need with consistently competing with athletic department monsters like Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nebraska.

Maryland traded being a middle of the pack ACC program with being a middle of the pack Big 10 program, with a little more money in the bank to show for it.

Oh, of course.

And the Big 10 conference was more than happy to [have its network] enter the D.C. and Baltimore markets in exchange for that.

Plus, the ACC gets Louisville. Though not quite the same market-wise, still a strong team.

Picking up Louisville and Syracuse was huge for the ACC, and it makes life tougher for ol' Roy.

Win-win imo.
