The (Un)official ACC Tournament Thread

McDonald should be wearing a Pitt uni today. Horrible.

Indeed. He's had some fine performances for us this year, but he will be no great loss. I appreciate his dedication, but he just gets lost in games far too much.

I swear to god, as I was typing at my computer, I glanced up to see Tokoto at the line. I turned back to the computer to type another sentence (in the post above), and I be damned if Pitt wasn't already at the line shooting free throws when I looked back up. My god!

Playing the economic development card. :)

haha! I'm playing every card I can manage at the moment. No, we flat out sucked today, and Pitt played very well. I'm simply stating a fact, however, when I say that the ACC tourney is taking a major hit. Many of the UNC fans will sell their tickets or continue to attend, but it will not amount to nearly as much traffic as UNC still being alive.

I thought about it at the half but was hesitant to post. I think this game is exactly like the Duke game at Durham. It has had exactly the same ebbs and flows at exactly the same moments. In the end, Pitt wins as did Duke.

And UNC sucks at rebounding, just like at Duke.

Yep, this game is exactly the same as Durham. Tar Heels keep forcing Pitt errors and simply can't capitalize.

Looks like the refs got the memo from the Greater Greensboro Economic Development Committee.

You must have missed the call where the ball clearly went off the Pitt player's hands, yet it remained Pitt ball.

The game has been called crappy all the way around.

Just giving you a hard time. :)

Pitt looks like a middle school team trying to break that press.

Oh, I know. I'm currently trying to debate if Pitt is just playing this well, or if UNC is playing this bad. I think the answer most likely resides somewhere in between.

That jump stop preceded by a step or two looked legal to me. /Lebron

:eek:lol: @ Pitt attempting to break UNC's press.

Every player on the floor in a Pitt jersey is afraid of the moment.

It is absolutely remarkable how much this game was like UNC at Duke last week. Almost a complete carbon copy, with the exception that Duke was able to pull away a bit earlier.

Anyhow, these last two games have demonstrated that Roy and company have much to work on for the NCAA. I'll consider it a success to make it to the second week.

Oh, and ACC officiating has absolutely sucked this year.

May the best team win the ACC tourney!

I hope they've found their mojo in that 5 minutes of frenzied comeback effort because it was preceded by 35 minutes of sh!t effort and execution.

This definitely will impact seeding and venue. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I don't get this UNC team. Every time I think that Roy has done a great job with this team he goes and does something like today. Why leave Paige in the game in an obvious foul situation when he has 4 fouls?

This team has been nonsensical. Trying to make sense out of them, or even out of Roy, doesn't, dare I say, make sense. They just are.

I know it's fruitless meditation, but man, would I love to see what this team would look like with PJ. He's been ****kicking peeps in the D-league, and from what it sounded like, he was ****kicking peeps in fall practice until he was forced out. Obviously, forcing him out was the right decision, but my god, what talent!

He definitely has a future in the NBA if he can keep it together. I don't predict him to be a superstar, but I definitely think he has big game potential (a 14-19 points a night kind of guy, plus 6 to 8 rebs).

Oh, and to your point about seeding, RDU, I think UNC ends up a 6 or 7 seed. 5 at best, but I think that's wishful.

He committed the foul only after more than 15 seconds had ticked away as his clueless teammates basically stood around. In that situation, Paige can't leave the court anyway. He's gotta be on the court in the event of a live ball turnover.

5 seed, IMO. Had an opportunity to improve themselves this weekend to maybe a 3 seed, maybe even the lowest 2 seed if certain other teams had lost. They'll be a 5 seed in Florida's bracket.

**** happens when you hang out on Holloway Street on a Friday night. Well basically any night. It's not a good place to be, I don't care who you are. He is very talented and would've made UNC a top 10 team this year, but took a lot of things for granted.

You are probably right. I'm just hoping that they don't get the opening round games in Raleigh. I think Duke will, assuming they win tonight, but I don't want 10-15,000 + UNC fans at PNC cheering against Duke all next weekend.

Ennis being a Wooden award finalist is pretty funny... Seems like a good kid, but the media has overhyped him so much.. Over what, two buzzer beaters?
