The (Un)official ACC Tournament Thread

Florida State winning the final BCS, notwithstanding, the ACC is a basketball league. Always has been and probably always will be. Pitt, Syracuse, and Louisville bring very little from a football standpoint. At its best, the ACC will be a top heavy football conference (FSU, Miami, Clemson, VT) and mostly mediocre otherwise with occasional random contenders from the rest of the conference. Basically, the opposite of the SEC.

I used to live in Greensboro and still have a good friend there who was at the Pitt/Wake Forest game today and he said he didn't see a Wake fan in the whole Coliseum which is a little weird as Winston-Salem is just down the road...I would have to think that Wake fans must have an inferiority complex that would make a Vandy fan blush.

Anyone know why Roy doesn't seem to be getting nearly as many blue chippers anymore? They used to come one after the other and over the last few years his recruiting seems to have taken a step backwards.

I don't know what you are talking about....back on topic, you guys have a tough one tomorrow. I wouldn't want any part of Pitt.

Yeah, they looked stout today. We only faced them once in the regular season (as I recall) in Chapel Hill. We won, but they could easily beat us.

His recruiting class for 2014 is pretty darn good. Justin Jackson and Theo Pinson are two top 10 players, and Joel Berry is the second or third (depending where you look) best point guard. Couple them with a team that should (hopefully) return all its players except a graduating Leslie McDonald, and I think UNC is right back on track to make a deep run in the tournament next year.

They're going to Kentucky

I think you guys win, but Pitt has enough talent to make it interesting. I think Pitt and UT have some similar tendencies. Both have underachieved IMO, but have very good scorers.

It would not shock me if you all were upset tomorrow afternoon. I expect a 40 minute game.

7 points in 10 minutes. Thank goodness Pitt isn't playing stellar.

Edit: Now they are. Boy, this is going to require FSU game magic times 2.

We may make an improbable (atm) run to win this game, but this is without question the worst shooting UNC team (hell, any college team) I've ever seen. It's unreal.

Now, this is more like it. Honestly, as bad as we played those first 14-15 minutes, I'll take a 10 point deficit at the half.

ACC Tourney is taking a big hit now. Going to be half empty come Sunday. Of course, Duke will be there, so that will account for the half full crowd.
