Rafa has a very navigable road into the finals. I really hope it is Rafa v. Djoker. I thnk they could have a final for the ages.

DJokovic/Granollers plays Youzhny/Hewitt: does it really matter who wins the Youzhny Hewitt match? Djokovic will roll Granollers in straight sets, and then have little difficulty with his next opponent, whoever it may be.

Murray/Istomin plays Stan the Man/Berdych: I don't give Istomin any chance of beating Murray. Stan The man and Berdych should be a good match, I give the nod to Berdych, though that certainly isn't a sure thing. And either guy can give Murray problems, though Berdych can give him more problems than Stan. I lean towards Murray v. Berdych, with Murray taking it in four sets

Murray v. Djoker should be excellent if that is how it plays out. Djoker has trouble with Murray, but will Murray be playing with the same fire he had at Wimbledon?

Gasquet/Ferrer plays Nadal/Robredo: barring freak injury, just put Rafa in the finals

Agreed on all points.

This is exactly what happened. He didn't do anything special. Federer played so stupid. Coming on weak approach shots. Going for winners when he's completely out of position. He's in his own head.

He also failed to notice a simple thing on approaches - Robredo was staying home. Can't count the number of times he tried to wrong-foot him and it didn't work.

One thing that's been written about Federer is that he can be too talented for his own good. In other words, he never really had to problem-solve to win matches in his heyday. He just played. And now that just playing maybe isn't good enough, he has no idea how to figure things out in the middle of a match.

Speaking of hotties, Ivonovic (still hot) had Azarenka by the short hairs for a bit. Her forehand now rivals her forehand when she was #1. In typical fashion, her serve left her and her game left the match.
On the men's side, I don't see anyone not named Novak winning this tournament.

Valid point

I cannot stand Victoria Azarenka. Most annoying beatch in tennis - and that's saying something.

Do you see anyone named Rafael Nadal?

6-2, 6-0, 6-0 ain't no joking around.

I'm certain the final will be Nadal/Djoker, and I'm excited as all get out. I think it could be an all-time great final

Unrelated, but did you see Allison Riske play? She's a butterface, but that bootey is booteylicious.

It could rival the 2008 Wimbledon final, which I personally think is the greatest match in tennis history.

I think it's just that his game isn't where it was 6-7 years ago. And, even if he was still in 2005 form, the field is much stronger in 2013 than it was when Roddick and Hewett were his toughest competition.

Regarding Federer, is it just a motivational thing with him? Has he lost his hunger?

It doesn't seem his physical ability could have dropped off that drastically in the last year. He's only a month older than Serena Williams.

I've said this very thing to people all week. Shouldn't have to say it against Tommy Robredo, but there were a handful of shots that Federer botched back down the line allowing Robredo to pass and build his confidence. I think it went a long way in determining the outcome. No excuse though because it was Robredo.

I will be on my death bed cursing the name of Tommy Robredo. Had Federer won, I was fully prepared to hit the road for an 11 hour drive to see Federer/Nadal at the U.S. Open. However, in that form, Federer couldn't beat Sebastian Nadal much less Rafa. I should thank Robredo for sparing my eyes such bloodshed.
