A bunch of players that would be consider "more talented" than the bunch you mentioned. Our roster is full of 4 star players. The next coach has an easier job than Pearl did talent wise hands down.
I am wondering how some of these self-annointed basketball genuises are going to prove the new hire is a better coach than Pearl. Because Hat said so isn't good enough. It is really a mystery to me why some of these "experts" aren't being consulted by TUOT as to whom they should hire
There is no question there are better coaches out there. While I think we will get a really good coach, we will be extremely lucky to get someone better. IMO
How about someone better in the sense that if we keep the coach (who everyone thinks we want) we have currently and this reflects on the program and we get a 2 year postseason ban, reduction of 4 schollys a year, and no road recruiting for the head coach or assostant head coach
OR
we get no postseason ban, reduction of 2 schoolys this year and 1 scholly in 2012, and limited recruiting for head coach only
Now which coach is better?
More talented? Really? CJ actually plays in the NBA. You know that, right? Lofton was one of the, if not THE, most prolific three point shooters in Vol history. JaJuan could flat out play and I think he came close to making an NBA squad. Now, factor in there is a better than average chance that Hopson and Harris leave, then tell me you really believe the next coach will be inheriting "more talented" players. That's delusional.
Not so fast my friend! Harris will most likely be back after hearing that interview from his dad. I am hearing also that Hopson is leaning towards staying. Also I expect to have Ware and Jones still hear to! We will be alright.Consider the program's current status...

All current recruits will need to be re-recruited.
Fact is, even talented stalwarts like Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim, Jim Calhoun, Bill Self, Tom Izzo, or Roy Williams would have a difficult go during their first year or three, possibly longer.
Patience Vol fans, it will take some time.
welp, he is at least as good.
