No surprised in this round. Tips over Kohl. Djoker over Wawrinka. Murray over Cilic. Delpo over Roddick.

Federer/Berdych is just starting, but I give Berdych less than a snowball's chance in hell of winning this match. Think about that. What kind of chances does a snowball have in hell? Are you bullish on that's snowball's continued existence in its packed, icy, throwable present state while in the fiery pits of hell? Well I'm less bullish on Thomas Berdych's chances of winning this match.

Apparently you've angered Berdych with your prediction. He is in the blasting zone tonight. Up a break in the second, this is his match to lose hitting like this. Nothing anyone can do against this power and accuracy plus booming serve.

Hahahahaha. I love the super bold and then egregiously incorrect predictions. Go kidbourbon!

Can you imagine a Berdych v. Delpo final with both players playing and serving in top form?

Won't happen though. If true to form, Berdych will flame out in next round. Delpo has to face Djoker. But I still maintain there is no answer for Berdych/Delpo style game when they are on and stay out of their own way. Hard to concede because Berdych is such a douche.

The answer, to use a boxing analogy, is to beat them to the punch. Hit them first. A ball basher can't bash balls if you make him move and scramble around.

I think Murray will beat Berdych in four.

I think Djoker will beat Delpo in four.

I want to have sex with Berdych's girlfriend.

You could do worse. Brush up on your Czech - you might hear some interesting stuff during the session.

Vegas has Djokovic at 20-1 against Ferrer. That's a semifinal match in a major. I mean, that's (a) showing mad respect to Djokovic, (b) completely disrespecting Ferrer, and (c) sorta ridiculous.

By comparison. Murray is 2-1 against Berdych.

20-1 in a semi? My mind is blown.

I haven't checked, but Serena is probably favored by just as much or more, but that's to be expected.

Serena Williams is amazingly good at the game of tennis. Wow. She finished that match in less time than Djokovic and Nadal take between points.

Anyone feelin' this Nadal-less, Federer-less slam semi-final? We've been spoiled. It's gonna suck when they're gone from the game.

Man, I've LOVED witnessing their on-court acts of brilliance over the years. They will be sorely missed when they go.

Came home to wifey watching Sharapova v. Azarenka. I come in the room and hear <thunk> <feral shriek> <thunk> <feral shriek> and knew who was playing before I looked at the screen. (sigh) Hope it's a short match. Don't tell me the winner, though (not that I really care). It'll be that much more depressing knowing the outcome and still having to watch it.

Women's final took an unexpected turn.

Can't believe it's been 17 years since it went three sets.

I feel ya.

We could do worse than Murray/Djoke, but those Nadal/Fed matches always seemed special.

Not just three sets: Azarenka was serving for the match.

But Williams dialed it up when it mattered. Part of me wondering if she was merely playing with her foe to make it more interesting, like a cat playing with a mouse.

This men's final is arguably the best matchup in the tournament. Patrick McEnroe said it's gonna take a huge effort from Murray to win it. Guess what, Patrick - it's gonna take a huge effort from Djokovich to win it. Does anyone remember the Aussie semifinal where Murray took Djokovich five sets but lost? How about the Olympics where Murray won against Djokovich in straight sets? OK, that was grass, but no one is going to have an easy match today. Should be fun to watch.

The wind is in Novak's head. This could be over quickly if he doesn't get his head back in the game.

I've switched allegiances twenty times throughout this match. I think I'd like to see Murray win because he deserves it, but I just can't root against Djoker. Glad Djoker decided to make an appearance in the second set. Nerves plus wind definitely affected Nole in first set and a half.

I know kidb is rooting for Murray so that Ivan Lendl can add another slam to his own total by proxy.

Oh god, I just realized there are no more grand slams until the end of January.
