Indiana State was in the top 50 rpi so not a bad loss for WS.
Won't affect us much.

RPI is the least of UT's concerns. Vandy is a BAD, real BAD team. So is UT----per last night's performance. Hello NIT. A team must be fun to watch to be really successful. (I refer you to UT FB 2012) 2011,2010,2009, 2008) Same deal here. Arkansas by 10 on Saturday.

No need for such a long post....we won. Mcbee still cant play d, yet did hit some nice shots and we might of found our new point guard. This is what march madness is made of, people coming off the bench helping the team win.

A team must be fun to watch to be really successful? Hmm I find that funny. I don't get it a couple weeks ago we wouldn't have even been able to close out these games and everyone would be complaining. Now that we are everyone is still complaining. I just find it hilarious. I honestly hope we win our next few games coming down to crunch time just to see how you "I'm ready to jump off the bridge" fans react. If we don't win by 10 or more people gripe. We have been a grind it out team the last couple years. It's not going to change. Jarnell looks like he's starting to find his place. NIT will have to hold on until we are completely dead in the water.

THIS. We need Golden. It's not even debatable.

Lopez is nice off the bench in a (very) limited role, but he doesn't have the talent to be a consistent factor. Period.

4. Bernard King Player of the Game: Jarnell Stokes. Box score stuffer tonight with 19 points/11 boards/3 assists/3 blocks and a steal. He was aggressive, and his offensive rebounding was the key in the game. He's improving and he handled double teams extremely well today. 8-12 from the field and 3-4 from the line. You take that all day, every day.

5. However, they have to run every play through him when he's on the floor. His scoring and playmaking is this team's greatest asset and he's the key to it. He would have had 25 had they gotten him the ball more.

6. Jordan McRae was 2-10 from the field and had no assists, while Trae Golden didn't play the second half. UT was able to still win. There weren't a ton of positives, but that was one.

7. Speaking of Golden, this team needs him. He's struggled mightily, but he's still the best ball handler and passer on the team. I like Brandon Lopez, but if Golden is out for an extended period of time, UT is screwed.

8. UT's defensive inconsistency was the reason the game was close. For whatever reason, the perimeter defense was not there. They looked slow moving their feet, and I felt like they gave up with on ball screens too much. I was disappointed with the defense and I'm sure Cuonzo was too.

9. The good news? Tennessee only had nine turnovers tonight. They did a better job protecting the ball, and for the most part had better passes...but they still throw bad entry passes.

10. It's a win. It was ugly and tough to watch in the sense that UT just couldn't put Vandy away, but without Golden and McRae no showing, UT can get to .500 Saturday with a road win at Arkansas. UT gets a couple extra days off and hopefully UT can fix the defensive issues. Any time the Vols win is a good night.

As for #2, Hall was in the game for potential free-throw opportunities. Despite his short comings, he is better at the free-throw line than Stokes. I agree with Lopez. Don't really know why he was in the game at that point. He doesn't provide lock-down defense or good free-throw shooting. A win is a win, but I'm really concerned about the rest of the season with this team. If Golden is out for any period of time, we are hurting, especially against Arkansas who presses the entire game. We will be a turnover waiting to happen in the next game.

Haha. You will be home more to see games. However, as my oldest is 2 and a half, you can't scream and yell like you used to. My behavior is totally different compared to 3 years ago.

Yes, even the most die hard fans will eventually tire of that hard to watch product. Hey I have been a fan longer than your age. It gets harder by the year, though. Stress isn't entertainment. Ernie and Bernie seem like a Mirage.

Well go live in the past. Maybe the fans will start leaving at halftime like you predicted. As long as we win I don't give a care in the world. I could hope and wish that we had Maymon back but we don't so I deal with it. If you don't like the team NOBODY is forcing you to keep watching. You keep talking about entertainment. We could have a bunch of scorers averaging 70+ a game but if we aren't winning does it matter?

I'm stressed whether the game is in the 80s or the 60s or the 40s. Rarely do I worry about being entertained when watching my teams play. In any sport. I worry about whether we win, not whether we're fun to watch. And I bet most fans would agree with me.
