Thank you all for what you have done for our country. It’s one of my biggest regrets that I didn’t join. My father was a Captain in the 82nd at Fort Bragg, my grandfather retired as a Colonel at the Pentagon with tours in Africa, Italy and Korea. It probably sounds stupid, but it’s in my blood and I think that it’s something I should have done.

Any Redlegs in here?

Yep....13B but I worked outside of my MOS for a lot of my service. I was a S1 clerk for my two years in Germany. Then I worked in a gun section while at Bragg and some of Campbell before being assigned to The Air Assault School as an instructor for my last two years. Great times on the line though... “Fire Mission!!”

A seasoned Salt here... served a long time ago. Brownwater Navy in Nam, served jointly with the Grunts of the 9th Infantry Division (Old Reliables). We kept Charlie on the run along the rivers in Mekong Delta. Seems like yesterday to me at times.

Another USAF type here. Born on an AF base so I guess it was in my blood. 93-13. Kelly AFB, Wright-Patterson AFB, Hanscom AFB, Chantilly, Pentagon, Schriever AFB, Kirtland AFB. Plus a year at Union III, Baghdad. Acquisitions mostly.

UT degree courtesy of the Air Force so there's that.

I'm a River Rat myself (active). Although the day to day missions have changed the capability remains. Thanks for all you did, sir. Are you by chance involved with the Game Wardens nowadays?

River Rats... the first time the Navy put together a Mobile Riverine unit was during the Civil War... the second time was VietNam, and more recently that concept was brought into the war in the Middle East. Some of my vet buds were instrumental in an advisory role to get the new riverine units up and running.

I am a member of a BrownWater Nayy and Delta Grunts forum... keeps things in perspective.

Quite the round the world tour there.

Like most, went where I was told and enjoyed almost every minute...worked with some of the finest Americans there are, stayed on the line for the most part, was able to get just about every job I "dreamed" about and avoided the Pentagon!

Married a very special woman who was with me all 28+ years on active duty and still is today...House Hold 6 - give her all the credit in the world for letting me be all Army and taking care of the homefront.

Cant wait for all the free food imma get in a couple of weeks on Vets Day lol
I avoid those deals like the plague. But I have heard the Denny's breakfast is legit. Anywhere near a base and the waits are 90+ minutes for a $6 meal.
