The Voice 2013

Just commenting on the short portion of the show I saw(the rest I'll watch on DVR), I think Sarah had a bad night with Gotye and Michelle Chamuel actually gave me chills with her Bruno Mars performance.

Biggest variance of the night...The Elles. Michelle's set was dramatic, stunning, perfect. Danielle's set was like a Hee Haw episode. I wonder if Blake or somebody else was responsible for that?

Weird. I got chills from Sarah's Gotye cover. Grenade did too. Judith did an amazingly funky cover of that Will.I.Am song.

Other than that, I thought the night was meh at best.

I do think Usher is trying way too hard though.

I think Sarah has to go tonight. A goyte song isn't her kind of song. I thought Michelle did amazing and everyone else did as expected. Sarah did the worst, even though I think she has a great voice in the long run.

Who goes home? I am thinking Sasha, Sarah or swan Bros. Two out of that three I think get the ax.

Sasha and Holly. Even as popular as country singers have been on shows like this and Idol lately, I can't see 4 country acts making the top 6, and Holly was the weakest iTunes seller last night among the country acts (remember, downloads also count as votes).

I think the Swonn brothers have been around about a week too long already. Maybe I'm just an old fan but I wasn't into that eagles cover at all. Blake saying "They're like a modern day eagles" just makes me want to see them lose even more because that'd be like saying a high school junior is on the same level as MJ or Kareem.

I don't know what Blake was listening to but I wasn't impressed with them at all.

My go home would be them, Sasha, and Danielle (I know.)

Wow. Can't believe the Swan Brothers stayed and Judith went home.

I love Michelle. But I'm telling you right now, Amber Carrington is the performer left on this show. And it's really not close.

My guess is Judith is another Daughtry. People thought she was so good she'd automatically go through so they voted for their second favorite.

That's the one problem with this show (and any voting show). There was not doubt that Judith was one of the three best singers on this show IMO. Last year Adam had a girl go home who was one of the best singers too.

Judith will have a hit song or two within the next year though. and honestly, I doubt any of the others will have the success she will.

Daughtry level success? Probably not. He had inside on the top 40 and filled a niche that hadn't existed since the heyday of 3 doors down and Fuel. But if she has a top ten hit in the next year? I'd bet on that.

If you play it back the Swon Brothers actually sang faster than their backup.

I think there went Adams two chances at winning.

I was shocked at the night's eliminations. Sarah had a bad song and honestly I don't think Judith did very well either. She just wasn't herself. I don't think either deserved to go home based on one bad song though.

I was going to call the Swon Brothers and Sasha going home.

Say what you want but I expect the Swon Brothers and Danielle go make it through again. This show has a massive country music following thanks to Blake and I think that'll prove to be the difference. It's a popularity contest at this point.

As well, Judith isn't exactly an up and comer either which Americans love to love. The unknown, the underdog, etc.

Well, only one elimination tonight. I have a feeling it is now going to be the Swon Brothers.

I'm also beginning to think that MC or Amber is going to win this thing... They have shown that they can sing different types of music well even though they have one style they're know for.

Blake is too safe with Danielle, Sasha could sneak in, and Holly could sneak in.

So, I got really excited when I heard Michelle was going to do Keane... and then she sang it and I was completely underwhelmed. Not sure why I didn't feel it, maybe it was all the little dynamics and pronunciations she did differently, or maybe it was the whole half whispering some of the words, but I just didn't feel it at all, and I really wanted to.

Amber though? She did a damn country version of Skid Row. I can't hate on that at all.

Doing Trouble was smart of Michelle I think, I liked it despite not liking taylor swift at all. And having taylor swift randomly show up like that certainly helped with some extra votes.

Amber's version of Crazy was impressive, that's all I can really say to that.

The one thing I can't stand is the sheer number of country music we've hit at this point. This is no longer the voice. It's like Nashville Star but with two people who don't seem to belong as well. I feel much more like I was right now after seeing last night's episode when I said Sasha and Judith both going home last week was pathetic.

Danille is starting to feel like a broken record imo. She performs great everytime, but always seems forgettable. On the other hand, MC has really been diverse and kills it every time. I feel like it's Michelle or Sasha Allen now. Amber is making a run, next week will be critical for her.

I agree with you Daloth, I'm hating the country parade every week. Maybe that's what makes me lean toward Sasha and Michelle.

I was just going to say, Danielle is a solid singer but she doesn't challenge herself enough. I actually saw a little bit of improvement this week when she actually attempted the "high note". What I can't stand about Danielle is when she is in her lower register, it's so weak and has very little air behind it. Blake needs to coach her on that or not pick songs with that low of a range. The Danielle/Amber duet was really good It thought but I've always liked that song as well.

Michelle did do a great job this week as well as Amber and Sasha.

I think they should make all the country singers sing a non country song now. Amber did Skid Row at least. To make it fair, Sasha and Michelle have to sing a country song.

I think Sasha and Michelle could get by with it. I don't think Danielle could at all. The Swonn brothers were the only ones on blakes team at all that I think could get by with a rock song.

They just butchered one of the greatest Seger songs ever. (don't tell 520 I used the word butchered.)

This thread died all of a sudden. Guess everyone was pissed about who made the top three?

Too bad for Sasha and Amber.
