Gruden says there is no truth about having a contract in hand ! He just said on Mike n Mike n.... why do we get our hopes up...

I can confirm with almost 100% assuredness that Gruden DOES NOT have a contract "in hand".

But his agent, Bob Lamonte DOES and his hands are shaking and he's doing his best to keep the drool of the signature lines.

And for those of you that believe that Gruden, or any HC candidate for that matter, would publicly say on a syndicated radio program, "why yes, yes I do have a contract from Tennessee on the table," I have ski resort for sale in Central Texas with a great ocean view.

I'm also 8 feet tall, averaged a quintuple-double playing basketball and I'm the only QB in the history of the world to throw for 100,00,000 yards in a single game.

not sure why people are/were demanding a ban on this cat, anyway. there are many others on here that have thrown out complete BS and have been posting for a lot longer.

i'm surprised the handle "VolReporter" was never claimed until this month.

and when was the last time someone claimed they weren't going to "x" school or "y" event never happened, only to find it to be true days or hours later? it happens incredibly often

OP is Gerald Riggs. He was at the Grey Cup (he actually played for Toronto during the season, but not during the Cup--not sure if he was injured or what), and his dad, Gerald Riggs Sr., works for Chattanooga ESPN radio, which would lend credence to what he said about his family.

Plausible.

edit: To be clear, "OP is G.R." is me speculating. I don't have any facts other than him being at the Cup and his dad working for ESPN Radio Chattanooga.

Riggs Jr also did a regular bit on 102.3 (Chattanooga) WGOW Sportstalk before he signed with the CFL. He's probably one of Gary Haskew's "insiders" as well.

This OP has Writer32 written all over it. How's the girls softball coaching going Griff?

If OP is in fact GR jr then i wish he'd go ahead and quit with the shadowy "i know something you don't know" stuff and just give straight info. Like many of you i'm sure, I met GR jr at one of the O&W pregame fan's day deals and he was nothing but nice. Took a picture, signed an autograph and was total class all the way... Unlike, sad to say, some of the players I've met....

You got that right.

He is absolutely one of the nicest Vols I've ever met. I met him at a night club I was working at in college. Great guy, seemed genuinely happy to meet a fan. Another guy bumped into him, causing GR jr to spill his drink on his own jacket and the other guy's...Dude started throwing a fit, GR just kept calm and apologized (even though it wasn't his fault), offering to pay for the guy's shirt. Ended up making the other guy look like the tool that he was.

All those "in the know" have been spewing bad gouge for over a week now. And, when the "intel" turns out to be bogus, the threads/post are conveniently deleted and a new series of inside info is disgorged and deposited.

that's absolutely not true. The mods aren't working to figure out what info is correct, who really has sources, etc. Except in the most ridiculous cases, all info is allowed to stand. It's up to the reader to figure out who/what they believe

I remember him there; I thought he was surprisingly well versed on the radio--he definitely has a career ahead of him in that field, should he choose.

And I certainly wouldn't bet against him being Haskew's source. Very good point.

I never said the Mods were deleting anything. I said the info in the post was deleted. I assume this is done by the OP.

The only way a thread or post disappears is if we do it. The OP can edit and that's it. Likely what you're thinking is posts "disappearing" is us merging a lot of threads to maintain some semblance of organization.

This guy is the OJ Simpson of Volnation. You know he is guilty of trolling, but hasn't been convicted yet.

Not very hard to find your post if you think it has been deleted.

See how easy that was for me to "edit" my original post. Now it reads nothing like the original. This is the procedure to which I was referring. After posting incorrect information that is proven to be incorrect by the passing of time or a deadline, one can simply "edit/delete/change" the original post in order to avoid any scrutiny or accountability...that's all. I suppose I was unclear in my original post.
