I thought the OP had prevoiusly "reported" Gruden was a done deal; now he's saying it's "close"?

And deserves to be smack for the obnoxious thread title.

He originally called it "BREAKING NEWS: Gruden out at ESPN!!" I took out the "breaking news" part and added the parentheses in, ah, tribute to his schtick with the oddly parenthesized letters.

It was annoying to look at, though, so I just now took them out.

If I am not mistaken, and I am putting two and two together, VolReporter was reporting the same thing as a twitter account similar to @volreporter about the CFL championship in random succession. This guy is probably legit and is on the inside. I read the description and thought this but said nothing. I wanted to see how far we could ride this pony. According to the twitter account, a ton of followers.

I'm growing more and more hesitant to bash Volreporter. It seems that every time he says something, we all call him a troll, and then 30 minutes later someone finds a source saying something similar and we all blow up about it. On that note, I remain extremely careful in how much I read into his posts.

Even if you are wrong you give me hope. So it's like buying a lottery ticket, you know you are not going to win but you have hope and that hope is worth the cost of a lottery ticket

I'm still really confused about any of this talk about Gruden to any NFL team. Doesn't it say already in his MNF/ESPN contract that he legally has to wait a year or two before he can go to the NFL? because of all the INSIDE information he has been given? I'm talking about able to see their practices, strategies, etc...

I could be wrong but I did hear something about that.

This is huge. Why? Because there is no way Gruden would leave ESPN to go to the NFL
as it's not the same as him leaving ESPN
College Football to coach in the NCAA.....

Remember NCAA rules would forbid Gruden to take any part in the bowl season

So my feeling and the many who i'm talking to within the past few minutes is that we are extremely close in acquiring a future star
as head coach for the Tennessee Volunteers football team.




I will update you all night long if I hear anything. If you ever watched the NCAA 30 for 30 Kansas Jayhawks. This is exactly the way the support staff, boosters, admin, and personnel actually work together.
