The Walking Dead

It was rather an unsuccessful turn as I remember it though. Even if the door was unlocked she wouldn't have opened it. It was like a mere hint of human left in a zombie shell.

Yeah but it was more than the flailing against doors and windows they do now.

Which makes Eugene's line in the flashback about them getting faster even funnier.

Which makes me wonder if you just held up in a place for another few years if the zombies wouldn't just rot away on their own?

But if everyone is infected, and the living keep dieing then as long as there are living to die, there will be zombies and chances of being bitten and out breaks until society learns to control it.

Definitely a mismatch numbers wise... So would the cold of winter and harsh weather conditions speed up or slow down the decay process? I think tropical climate, the decay would be quicker...

Any of y'all in Knoxville? If so, drop by The Body Farm and ask, then report back please :salute:

We could argue that fresher from death = smarter or faster. Or that at some point they hit a peak of intelligence/stamina that then degrades over time.

Though, physically, these zombies woukdve been gone after a year from the environment alone. Especially in the south.

Cold weather definitely slows down decay. Some speculate that the zombies may even freeze or slow down tremendously in winter but we never see that on the show so we'll never know.

Isn't it airborn, as in they all have it when they die? Then it can't just die out.

I think the amount of already dead far outweigh the amount that are still alive. So when live people die I don't think they are adding much to the dead population.

Alright fellas, I'm high. As I sit here though my imagination a thought came to my head.

Does the title ( The walking dead ) pertain to the "Walkers" or Rick and his followers.

I'm not gonna Google it as I would rather have my fellow brethren speak wisdom from thy teeth.

My opinion is that it applies only to the walkers.

Actually I think Kirkman made a point that the title is more so about the living than the dead.

Do you remember when he did this or have a reference to it, link? Who am I to argue with the creator of the comic itself though. :p

See I thought that too. However, Everyone is infected. So I assume it to be about the living. I'm just mind blowed at the moment

Infected yes, but the living aren't dead. Despite the apocalyptic, nomadian theme to the show there still is a difference between the walking dead and the living, but again that's just my opinion.

Fairly early on in the comic, Rick actually declares to the group, "We are the walking dead!" Or some such words.

Camping next to Lake Texoma with Boy Scouts. Really cold with North wind across the lake.

Would really hope that Walkers would be slowed by the cold, cause it has slowed me down....:)

Camping with boy scouts... sounds like something you'd hear from Jerry. :)

Could you imagine me leading Boy Scouts on a camping trip? I'm more likely to burn the Forrest down. Plus I'm fancy, I don't do camping. Lol

I am the most failed Boy Scout ever. You couldn't ask for a better opportunity to be an Eagle and I only made Star. I did it 5 years - I even worked at Scout camp (Buck Tom's trading post) for 2 years*. I'm not handy. I don't like backpacking (I do like day hikes a lot). I don't like practicing survival skills. I can barely make a fire, etc.

*Probably picked on some VN members

I never even gave Boy Scouts a thought I was too busy destroying things and fighting all the time. Had 3 cousins all around the same age, we would go to my grandmas pair up and fight for hours, then go explore the woods. I was very redneck till about 15, then I became really metro because of girls. I'm not very handy either, hunting, fixing cars etc never interested me.
