The Walking Dead

How did the thread about a zombie show turn into this? If you thought it was an icky scene then just do whatever you do. Say, "eww gross!" and move on from it.
Let's get back to less political topics, shall we?
Like, I wonder what happens to the souls of these walkers. Is it a purgatory situation?

Depends...were they gay before they turned? If so its definitely straight to hell.

Unfortunately, many don't see a difference.

Unfortunately, when discussing a show that routinely displays all manner of acts that violate the principles he holds so dear, he only seems to have a problem with one 15 second scene where two men just happen to kiss.

A show that already has an openly gay female...but that's ok bc "that'd be hot."

Had I been drinking something when I read this it definitely would have come up my nose.

Anyhow, I'm a little late to this party since I just now had a chance to watch this weeks episode. While the scene definitely caught me off guard I don't see why it defines the episode. I certianly didn't expect to come to this thread and see blatant homophobia derail the whole thing.

So back to the main themes of the show. Clearly Rick has justifiable trust issues. After Woodbury and Terminus I don't see how the whole group cannot. They must be so desperate for salvation they are willing to take a chance on any potential safe haven.

Why did Aaron freak out and run out of the car whe he saw the flare? Was it because he thought his man was in trouble. What did he think he was going to do running around in the dark handcuffed in a herd of walkers?

In fairness you all have expressed your displeasure differently. You haven't came across as hate filled hillbilly.

Apparently Jerry is the judge of any and all comments having taken place during the last two pages of this thread. :) In addition I've seen people post in this thread that I've never seen post in this thread before, so that's interesting.

I'm just sick of the few speaking for the majority....I don't like seeing 2 guys getting ready to smoke and poke on my fav. TV shows....that's not too much to ask...it had derailed this thread....just stinks

They kissed dude...they didn't use hamsters on each other! Was bound to happen in the zombie apocalypse that some gay people were able to tough it out and survive...didn't seem forced at all.

Why does voicing an opposing opinion on visually seeing a display of homosexuality suddenly make you a bigot, or a homophobe?

Tolerance only counts for one side of the argument in this case I see. If someone doesn't like seeing two guys kiss why are people intolerant of that opinion?

Well I do have the big gavel.

I know it is weird, its like they have been hiding in the closet or something.

I don't think anyone cared that people were voicing an opinion. Most of us were joking around about it. Saying it the way someone was saying it "America hates gays and makes fun of them" and insinuating that its ok because they are the minority, and smoke and poke definitely sounds homophobic.

I get that people don't like it, I don't like ugly people but I don't rant about Eugene being on the screen.

It does suck that we haven't really discussed the episode, and I'm partially to blame.

I definitely think the flares were to signal if they needed help, and that's why he took off. Doing it in handcuffs was a poor decision. Though maybe the flair was a signal for something else and he thought the handcuffs could be fun...

From what I've heard it's not so big. :p

There were a few comments made toward those voicing an honest opinion on the subject. I'm not focusing on the one you pointed out in particular, that one was unnecessary. Some people seem to think you can't have an opposing opinion on the subject and not be a homophobe.

I think the underlying problem is that Hollywood(using this as a general term for tv and movies) feels like they can't portray a gay couple without having some form of flagrant PDA which simply isn't true. This obvious lack of creativity and what some may view as a visual assault elicits responses like this from the viewers.

No one's asking you to start handling yourself over a dude kiss...just quit bellyaching like you were exposed to hardcore porn. I grew up in the 70s and 80s when you could call your buddy a British cigarette for the least misstep...entered the AF still thinking homosexuality was some twisted perverted evil that these people chose for themselves. This was before Clinton and DON'T ASK AND DON'T TELL...the brass investigated and discharged you for homosexuality...over the course of my enlistment I met some of the most genuine,good-hearted people...who made that "choice"...I fear God and try to follow his tenets, but there are too many good people "bound for Hell" for it to be a choice. I don't feel that TWD is going to expose you to a gay version of Rosalita-Abraham...they're just trying to convey that real life keeps going on when the dead start walking.

Hamsters.... lulz

There was a gay dude on my beer league ice hockey team a few years back. Dude was the toughest and craziest bastard on our team. Would definitely want him on my side in a zombie apoc.

Finally caught up and watched these 3 episodes.

I know nothing about Alexandria, but I felt the whole time the guy might be lying since he changed when michonne asked where the people were. And from the scenes of next weeks they also didnt show people there (but of course that doesn't mean they don't exist)
