I think the underlying problem is that Hollywood(using this as a general term for tv and movies) feels like they can't portray a gay couple without having some form of flagrant PDA which simply isn't true. This obvious lack of creativity and what some may view as a visual assault elicits responses like this from the viewers.
I don't follow. Are you saying they should have tip toed around the characters being gay without showing them kiss?
I honestly thought they handled the whole thing in a very natural way. Aarons was not obviously gay but most aren't in real life. He thought Eric was seriously injured and was relieved to find he was OK. Their smooch was no different than when Glenn and Maggie got back together at the end of last season.
People on the internet were acting like they have been personally bent over and sodomized because they saw two dudes kiss.
