The Walking Dead

Shameless is about a completely ****ed up family, it has a lot of weird stuff in it but its probably the lulz inducing show on TV. Banshee is about an ex con pretending to be a sheriff of a small town. Episode for episode its the best show on TV. There has never been a bad episode, and has some of the best fight scenes on TV. I'll throw The Shield as a show you should eventually watch, it was pretty awesome. BB just wasn't my cup of tea, plus the way everyone was crazy over it probably set it up to fail for me.

My wife watches Shamless and has been watching it since it started I've been wanting to sit down and watch it but just haven't, seen a few episodes Macy is funny as fawk and the black chic married to white dude is sexy.. I saw last week episode with her tits out.. Nice...

Macy is great, the whole cast is really. Yes she is stupid hot.

The Talking Dead is more of an extension to the show. So if you find you didn't like the episode of The Walking Dead you most likely won't care for The Talking Dead later on. I for one thoroughly enjoyed this latest episode of TTD because Kevin Smith was pretty funny on it.

Not really, even after great episodes, the show is too long. Part of the problem is they overanalyze the smallest crap; like "why do you think Rick scratched with his right hand instead of his left hand?"

What's Banshee and Shameless about? I'm about to start a new series and have a lot to choose from. I have free HBO, Cinemax, Stars, and Showtime for 3 months because I just got direct. I'm thinking of finishing The Sopranos, starting GoT, The Wire, and Boardwalk Empire. I still don't understand how you don't like Breaking Bad? I do agree with you that after Walt and Jessie the charcters drop off dramatically other than Saul. Those 3 made the show for sure.

Unless you're just opposed to violence for some reason you need to watch Banshee.

Well saw an update on this thread and instead of the walking dead I get BadJerry and Coug channeling their inner Siskel and Ebert.

:)

:)

Lol did the same thing with True Detective, but im going to give that another shot as well.

True Detective is a slow burn as well. You really need to put down the smartphone and any other thing that might distract you and just watch it. It's not action packed but it's two A list actors doing their thing and doing it brilliantly.

I know exactly what you're talking about but typically they don't dwell on those questions too long. You almost have to blame Chris for those, he's the comic book nerd/show host who likes to try and read into things.

Forgot to mention on the last TTD Ross Marquand(Aaron's character) does some pretty darn good impressions too.

Then why watch it at all?

Because it does have some good stuff but it usually has too much filler to drag it out to an hour. Other than the premiere and finale, there's not much of a reason to discuss en episode for an hour.

Talking Bad was only 30 minutes, other than the finale, and let's just say if a show like BB only needs 30 minutes, then TWD should be well able to be discussed in 30.

How much time do you think has passed since leaving g the Prison?

It was a 3 or so day journey to Terminus. Then about 2 or 3 nights between escaping and going to get Beth. The biggest gap I would imagine is how much time was spent traveling toward Richmond from Atlanta then the time between Tyrese's death to Alexandria.

Makes me laugh that for 4 1/2 seasons that they are so close to Atlanta, then Boom they make it 500 miles to Virginia in essentially 1 1/2 episodes :)

The lack of a sense of distance or direction on this show has always made me chuckle. Every season there has been a "wait what" moment as far as traveling.

I couldn't get into True Detective's because I can't stand MM. I do love me some Woody though...

How do you hate MM?

You fail at life.

Lol!

Could be worse, they could drop a van off a bridge and proceed to defy physics with it's landing. That or blow Beth's face off completely unexpectedly and right next to the camera.

They just didn't want to bore the audience with multiple episodes of traveling down a road, constantly searching for water, and listening to everyone bltch about their lives in general while dodging zombies like drunk runningbacks.

It really doesn't seem odd how much time they spent in GA.

S1 was still just a few weeks after the turn. All 6 episodes took place over about a week. Then they found the farm and stayed for a month or two which was the entirety of S2. About 7-8 months passed between S2 and the start of S3 (going by Lorie's pregnancy). They kind of explained they were going in circles because they kept getting cut off by herds. Then they found the prison and holed up there for at least a year by the looks of how well they settled in with a garden, pig pen, and all.

Noah gave them a reason to travel North and they did the bulk of that trip during the mid season break for all we know it took weeks.

The writers clearly wanted to get the story to Alexandria. They didn't want to waste 2-3 episodes on the journey.
