The Walking Dead

Daryl is pretty much the only character I like at this point.

I was talking to a buddy of mine last night, and we both agreed that we only watch the show now because of how much time we have invested in it. I don't know what it is, maybe the novelty of the story has worn off, but the show is just lame now, I think. A show like Better Call Saul is just in another league in terms of character development and writing. What's sad is BCS is only 6 episodes in and I already feel more connected to its characters then I do with TWD.

This season has actually made me like it more than last, minus the lame Beth hospital stuff.

It's Talking Dead that I don't care for much anymore. Cut that to 30 minutes.

Good season.

Talking Dead is too long. Agree with 30 minutes.

I can't stand it either, but I didn't really like Breaking Bad either.

You must not have approached BB with the right frame of mind. That show was genius and it kept you wanting more.

Daryl has become one of the least interesting to me. He doesn't do any thing except grunt and give one word answers.

I can see where you're coming from with this opinion but I have to disagree in the sense that he's adding a dimension to the show that none of Rick's other characters are doing. He's fighting conforming, he's not "buying in", he doesn't trust anyone, and yes he's still feeling Beth's death. Truth be told was Daryl ever really a conversationalist? Not so much.

The Talking Dead is more of an extension to the show. So if you find you didn't like the episode of The Walking Dead you most likely won't care for The Talking Dead later on. I for one thoroughly enjoyed this latest episode of TTD because Kevin Smith was pretty funny on it.

That...or I just didn't like it, I didn't find it brilliant and it definitely didn't leave me wanting more. Lol

I do agree Smith was funny. Have him and/or Conan every episode and an hour is fine. Every other show is pretty boring and too long.

I watched every episode in a weeks time, it was ok but not great to me.

That was the problem. You didn't have to anticipate anything. Plus Banshee probably has you spoiled. :) I'm starting to find myself comparing current shows to Banshee and the majority of them falling greatly short.

Honestly I think part of it was everyone hyping the crap out of it. Plus outside of Jessie and Walter I didn't really like any of the characters. I didn't watch an episode and rush to watch the next one either.

Banshee does deliver like a mofo, the only show I watch that is as consistently entertaining is Shameless. Used to be Justified, but its such a huge disappointment this season.

I should try and get into Shameless honestly. Justified has been a bore fest for the most part, there just isn't enough action. I'm not even the least bit entertained by Sam Elliot's character either. Complete let down thus far.

We like a lot of the same shows, I think you would enjoy it. This season of Justified=The Farm season from TWD. Just a lot of talking with nothing really happening. Elliot is the worst main Villain yet. It should have been just Boyd vs Raylan no extra bad guys. IMO

I go back and forth on being a Kevin Smith fan. I was a huge fan in his early days. Then he pissed me off not finishing his comic book projects. Time passed and I let it go then thought he was funny again. Currently I've got to be in the mood for his humor.

I will say Comic Book Men is awful. Not really his fault necessarily. The characters personalities aren't interesting at all. Then the Pawn Stars format is so staged it's like they don't even try to hide it. How it's been renewed for 4 seasons is beyond me.

Any of you guys watch Maron?
There was an episode where they had Marc Maron on The Talking Dead because he's a comedian but he doesn't watch TWD. It was a train wreck.
I kind of want to see someone crash and burn like that on TTD. Would give it more entertainment value than watching the nerdist go fan-boy all over TV stars every week.

Did you watch the episode where Marilyn Manson was a guest?

What's Banshee and Shameless about? I'm about to start a new series and have a lot to choose from. I have free HBO, Cinemax, Stars, and Showtime for 3 months because I just got direct. I'm thinking of finishing The Sopranos, starting GoT, The Wire, and Boardwalk Empire. I still don't understand how you don't like Breaking Bad? I do agree with you that after Walt and Jessie the charcters drop off dramatically other than Saul. Those 3 made the show for sure.

Finishing the Sopranos, and then watching GoT and The Wire may be the best lineup of TV watching I've ever heard.
