The Walking Dead

Finishing the Sopranos, and then watching GoT and The Wire may be the best lineup of TV watching I've ever heard.

I think I'll go with that then. I'll probably watch GoT first though since the new season comes out next month. Then the sopranos. I've only watched one season of that and loved it but my HBO ran out so I didn't get to finish it. I started the Wire too about a year ago but only watched an episode or two and was too into it. But I'm willing to give it another shot because of how high a praise it gets from people. I'll be keeping up with Better Call Saul and TWD too.

When does The Wire get good? I tried watching it, because I've heard so many good things, but I only got through 3 episodes, and it just didn't hold my interest at all.

It doesn't help that the episodes are actually an hour long, since it's commercial free. I remember vaguely what's happening so far, so I could try to pick up where I left off, but it just bores me.

Well saw an update on this thread and instead of the walking dead I get BadJerry and Coug channeling their inner Siskel and Ebert.

:)

That's the same boat I'm in. I've heard it takes at least 5 episodes and then you'll watch the whole series in no time because of how good it gets. That's why I'm willing to give it another shot.

I didn't care for Breaking Bad either. So much stupid for Walt to live 5 seasons.

He's the main character though? Lol. Rick has went through crazier stuff than Walt ever did. Jax from SOA did too. Every main character goes through crazy stuff that in reality they shouldn't make it through it.

It's a slow burn initially - similar to True Detective if you've watched that.

I had the same problem - gave up 3 episodes in about three years ago. Came back and gave it another chance a few months back and I'm glad I did!

Lol did the same thing with True Detective, but im going to give that another shot as well.

I lost interest in BB after the 2nd season, kept hearing how great it was so went back and watched the rest, wish I wouldn't have. I was rooting for Hank, Walt's wife her sister and Jesse all to be killed because they were so irritating.

SOA jumped the shark when they did the story line with the supposed Mexican cartel/CIA guys. After that it was just terrible.

WD needs to pick it up some and get a purpose, some back story of how this happened or something, otherwise it's about done. Can only carry a show so long with killing.

I agree with Skylar and her sister, they were super annoying. Hank was funny at times but had his annoying moments as well. Breaking Bad had it's boring and wtf moments. But I do think it had some really good character development and really good writing.

SOA was really good the first couple of seasons but declined every season. Still a great series but could have been better towards the end.

The Walking Dead or talking dead as I call it sometimes gets super repetitive and is mostly just talking now. They stopped developing the characters for some reason? It seems like every other episode is good. Nothing will ever top when they were on the farm though, that was the worst.

I'm curious but what are some of your favorite shows?

Favorite? That's a hard one. Most of my favorites have been canceled. I really like Falling Skies, GOT, the Americans and Turn. I really liked Revolution and V. I hate any cop, lawyer or hospital show and will not watch. I did like JAG and the first couple seasons of NCIS then I started rooting for Gibbs to be killed off.

I have Justified, Shameless and Homeland scheduled on the DVR and will watch them on rainy day here and there.

What's Banshee and Shameless about? I'm about to start a new series and have a lot to choose from. I have free HBO, Cinemax, Stars, and Showtime for 3 months because I just got direct. I'm thinking of finishing The Sopranos, starting GoT, The Wire, and Boardwalk Empire. I still don't understand how you don't like Breaking Bad? I do agree with you that after Walt and Jessie the charcters drop off dramatically other than Saul. Those 3 made the show for sure.

Shameless is about a completely ****ed up family, it has a lot of weird stuff in it but its probably the lulz inducing show on TV. Banshee is about an ex con pretending to be a sheriff of a small town. Episode for episode its the best show on TV. There has never been a bad episode, and has some of the best fight scenes on TV. I'll throw The Shield as a show you should eventually watch, it was pretty awesome. BB just wasn't my cup of tea, plus the way everyone was crazy over it probably set it up to fail for me.

I forgot Justified, Boyd is my all time favorite character. Falling Skies is good. Revolution had such great promise, but they took it in weird directions...and the acting...good lord the acting. Lol

I'm not a good judge of acting so the acting in Revolution didn't bother me. I think I saw where the violence turned people off and that's why it lost ratings and was canceled. But of course I can't remember an NBC show that I liked that made it long.

I did like The Shield, forgot about that one.

The younger girl was really bad...but she was pretty hot. Lol I like Grimm on NBC, and Constantine has gotten really good.
