The Walking Dead

Couple questions: 1. Why the hell were Rick and D driving that box truck in the middle of the field to begin with? 2. When they slid Jesus off the top, why didn't they just drive away? Why chase him in the field? That whole scene seems stupid and reckless by those two.

I thought they were going to check out a barn.

Yes, I believe that Rick pointed to the barn and said something to Daryl right before he went into the grass to head over there...Then, heard the bump on the roof.

This has probably been brought up in this thread, but they seem like they get too into making characters turn into walkers, even though it kind of doesn't make sense that they do.

What I mean is, the Lone Wolf guy was getting mobbed by walkers when he bit it, but shows up a few minute later as a walker and seemed pretty much all there. Same with Deana, she had a horde coming to get her, yet shows up wandering around the forest. Shouldn't there be hardly anything left of these two? I mean the guy that fell on Glenn was torn apart, and freakin' Lori was completely eaten (still stupid).

The only explanation I can come up with Deanna is she probably already turned before the walkers could get to her cause walkers don't eat other walkers. Maybe that's why she started screaming at the end of the episode. When Nicholas fell on Glenn during the dumpster scene, he was pretty much walker bait cause techincally he was still human. He shot himself in the head so he wouldn't have to suffer being eat to death by walkers.

Eh.....that would be the quickest turn in the history of the show. She was very much alive when a ton of them were getting to her. I don't think she died and became a walker in 3 seconds.

Like I said before, that's the only explanation I can come up with. I mean she was already bit for quite a while now and it just happened to take effect as soon as the walker herd started coming towards her. It could have been a mistake in the show as well. Who knows really.

Guys (regardless of age) frequently do totally non-essential juvenile activities when the opportunity presents itself.

Even during a zombie apocalypse... :)

You are watching the wrong show if you are questioning why they do certain things. Every episode they do incredible stupid stuff, but they have to add drama into the show somehow.

Everything about the Jesus situation was stupid and extremely predictable.

This may be the wrong show for you to watch as well...

:)

She may have screamed, then shut the door.
Quickest turn to Walker is just a couple of minutes...

This. She had been bitten for quite a while before and she had already been well into a fever when she was visiting Judith in her crib. We all saw the same thing even Rick almost shot her thinking she was dead.

This sneak peek is obviously what happened just after Jesus escapes from the room he was in and they realize he is gone... I'm guessing anyway.

I rewatched the latest episode and the door to the room Jesus was tied up in was like a normal glass door. Am I mistaken in thinking that this same door used to be made of steel and required a key to get into or am I confusing it with the armory door?

To me, it looked like the same room Morgan kept the Wolf in.

We enjoy WITHOUT trying. Has to be taxing to force yourself to watch so you can routinely b**** about how much you hate it. :pinch: Can't relate. I don't watch shows I don't enjoy.

I'm sorry my questions hurt your delicate sensibilities about a TV show, and I'm sorry asking you to think appears to make you grumpy.

Don't worry, I tell myself that every week after I watch an episode :) haha

I used to enjoy it though, but I guess the last 2 seasons have left me a bit underwhelmed. I do enjoy comparing it to how it was done in the comic. Which might be why I stopped enjoying the show as much because I started reading the comics about a year ago.

We're all just desperately trying to hang on to the "magic" this show had during the early seasons; which has clearly faded.

Eh...I'd take the current season over the "early" Season 2 all day. So in that sense, I don't think it's lost any "magic".

Having said that, it's rare that any show is still going strong after 5 seasons. Breaking Bad did but also ended right at 5 seasons. Game of Thrones is still going strong. But those are exceptions. TWD is in a unique positon because it's based on a comic that still is going, and there is plenty of good material to go. The ratings are also still at almost 14 million an episode, so it's by far still the biggest show on cable.

Go back and rewatch those early seasons and tell me what the magic was that isn't there any more.

Only thing I can think is that the writers know the show is safe they have 16 episodes as opposed to 6 for S1 and 12 for S2 so they stretch out story lines about 3-4 episodes too long.

I have been one of the least critical of the show and can even forgive some of the slow character building episodes but I think it would serve the series well to go back to 12 or even just 10 episodes per season.

No doubt. Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, Mr. Robot, and Fargo, the 4 best shows currently on TV IMHO, are all 10 episodes per season. Other great shows have 13. 16 is too many and allows way too much filler material.

I'm afraid that's going to bite Fear the Walking Dead next season as well because it's going to 15 episodes.

Season 2 had like 5 episodes dedicated to chilling on the farm and sending search parties out to find a girl.

What part of your constant rants includes Q&A? I'm not the butthurt one who gets upset that others keep watching a show you detest...so reconsider your "delicate" response. :cray:
