The Walking Dead

Sorry, I left out overly sensitive...
I'm kidding with you, but some posters keep beating the same dead horse over and over again.

If I don't like something, I state it and move on. I like the show, but the writing and way they do things are sometimes stupid. Of course, people in bad situations often do very stupid things that get themselves and others killed or injured even in real life.

The thing that pisses me off is that the actions of the primary characters are as if they haven't learned anything from surviving this long. The Saviors herded them just as effectively as the Terminus crew did.
This last season really sucked in regards to how many opportunities they behaved extremely stupid and almost naive...

:hi:

I'm convinced this is something we'll have to accept or stop watching. The writing isn't going to improve

They need to let him kill dwight slowly and painfully. Flaying him and let him get eaten from the feet up. Dangle him from a tree where he can slowly be eaten.
When he starts bleeding too much, hoist him up and cauterize the blood vessels so that he lasts longer.
He deserves some serious retribution
Imo.

hmm.. how much do you pay for malpractice? just curious :)

That's kind of the problem with a show like this. Presumably everyone that's made it this far is pretty experienced and grizzled. But holing up and playing it safe makes for very boring tv. You need a periodic injection of stupid like the Alexandria people, who've somehow managed to live a long time without dying or doing much else useful. They're a fresh pack of noobs to make rookie mistakes and drag the veteran characters into trouble. That gets less and less believable as the apocalypse drags on. They should face harder and harder problems, and folks have to start dying to make it believable.

While I agree for the most part, I think in trying to stay true to the comic without simply copying the comic has led to some of the bad writing.

For example, in the comic, the situation that led to the Negan confrontation happend much better and made more "sense" given how the story unfolded. In recreating it for the TV show (and again, without simply copying the comic), they ended up creating a scenario that seemed force and kind of silly. Daryl going out recklessly and taking others with him and getting easily caught doesn't fit how the characters should be at this point. Even if you give leeway to them making mistakes, they made rookie mistakes. Then the whole Saviors blocking every road and whistling, none of that was in the comic (never mind the place should be crawling with walkers making that much noise).

That would be my biggest complaint. I don't mind them not copying the comic line by line, that's fine and I think most fans of both would agree. But don't force something bad just to get to the same point.

I didn't have a problem with Daryl running off that did make sense to me. His character is supposed to still have a little hot headedness about him. A couple others going after him was ok too. He did get captured a little too easy I agree.

Now the reason the rest of the cast left Alexandria was very manufactured with Maggie's illness.

In my point TV and comic are interchangeable. No one wants to watch a boring show just like they don't want to read a boring comic. I know those plot vehicles are required to make the story move along and keep it from going stale, but I agree Darryl getting caught like a noob was just dumb to watch. People splitting up and traipsing around on rescue missions is dumb to watch. I have never seen the comic so I don't know how much of the show mirrors the writing vs. what's in the comic. But I'm not a fan of lazy writing setting up climaxes. There's enough of that in movies and tv as it is, at least this show has a blueprint to follow.

The problem is there's a world outside this show that will always be considered. The shows exists first and foremost to make money. Like Reedus' shows or the phone game and whatnot. So I think authenticity will be sacrificed in order to maintain and grow other revenue sources. If that means that characters that die in the comic live way past their expiration date on the show, so be it. This is a stable cash cow for AMC and they will milk it as long as they can, crying comic fanboys be damned.

Pretty much confirmed by the Spoiling Dead that we're going to see Abe & Glenn get their brains smushed by Lucille. Apparently it's supposed to be really graphic just like it was in the comics. Glenn's eyes are supposed to pop out and you'll be able to see his human skull get crushed to pieces. I can't say that this will make up for the cliffhanger considering it's still kind of the "cheap" way out by having two Lucille victims but of course I'm going to continue to watch it. Unless it's a fake script made by the writers to throw us fans off, the Spoiling Dead is 100% right on this. Oh well.

Yeah I think it's both of them now. Abe hasn't been seen at all and Steven Yeun is in CA apparently getting bulked up for a new role.

I still think there's a 1% chance Glenn isn't dead because he has been spotted in a episode filming after 1, but it could be like Hershel and a flashback or something like that.

My thinking as well. It could be a flashback scene with Hershel like you said. Seeing as Yeun & Cudlitz only filmed one episode this season, it's a pretty safe bet that they're dead.

Glenn gets it. Abe steps in. They both get it.

It's the other way around. Abe gets picked first then Daryl tries to interfere. Daryl is taken away by Dwight which results in him being taken prisoner at Negan's sanctuary. Negan then kills Glenn for punishment.

This thread has stayed active and kept people talking about the Fall Season Premiere since the spring finale way back in April. We are still more than 2 months away from the Fall Premiere and people are still talking/speculating about it.

There's no doubt that they made the right choice by ending on a cliffhanger.

Agreed. We knew it was going to get leaked sooner or later. The writers might have thought the cliffhanger was a good idea but it backfired on them IMO.

Majority of viewers aren't reading spoilers for this show. Just the people who are super fans. That's where the groaners are to begin with and they are watching it no matter what anyway.
