The Walking Dead

I swear I hope Daryl dies. He won't, but what I want him to die more than I wanted Andrea to die.

I actually like Glenn better than I do Daryl anyways. What the hell was the point trying to attack Negan in that situation? If he hadn't tried anything, Glenn would still be alive.

Negan redeemed the show last night with his humor while beating the $hit out of some great characters.

While I like the way he plays the character, I would have also liked to see him scream at someone or flip out. While it's still terrifying to beat someone to death with a bat, somehow doing it with a smile takes a little away from his scary-factor. It wasn't a crazy kind of smile, it was just a handsome-guy smile. Not the same thing.

Literally killed my favorite two characters. Rough even though I knew it was coming for a couple months. Lol.

I saw it differently.
What he was doing no more bothered him than squashing a mosquito that is biting him.
He had to show his total control over Rick. I think he enjoyed that part.

I think it makes it worse. The loud, in-your-face, violent psycho is one thing. The calm and collected guy who smashes folks heads with baseball bats and talks you into chopping your sons arm off (Nearly) is another.

Rick and Daryl just proved:
"You can choose your actions.
You cannot choose your consequences."

Pretty sure Daryl thought Negan would kill him, not someone else. Rick telling Negan that he will kill him falls in the same category.

Negan is a whole other level of evil compared to previous bad guys that they have encountered. High school vs Major league...

100% agree. The calm and jovial nature in which he committed those acts was what made the character a new type of evil the audience has never seen on the show before. Negan is excellent and almost instantly became my favorite character on the show.

It may be on of the worst. Maybe the worst, period.

Were it not for Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the episode would have been irredeemable.

Yeah but Jeffrey Deam Morgan was in the episode, and his presence made the episode one of the more important and best of the series, imo.

What episodes are better?

The more I've thought about it, the more losing Glenn sucks. I've kinda grown up with him. He's about the same age as me and was one of the only ones left that never killed a human.

I'm trying to come up with episodes I enjoyed less, and I'm still on zero.

The big issue with this episode is that it accomplished absolutely nothing except for killing off two characters. It moved nothing forward, and revealed nothing about any of the characters that we didn't already know, including Negan.

It wasted an hour on about 5 minutes of plot.

I thought it was a fantastic episode. I know every TV show has its flaws but the acting from all the characters was top notch. JDM played the roll of Negan very well with his charm and brutality. I don't see why some people thought it was a horrible episode? I mean if any of us was in that situation in real life, we'd be acting the same way Rick did when his own people got killed in front of him. Maybe even worse.

Honestly I found him a bit annoying after a while. Him monologuing for the first 20 minutes got kind of old, and by the end of it all I was just like "Ok we get it".

Dude, killing two characters, one of which that has been with us since season 1 is a big deal. Also, at the heart of the episode was the complete breakdown of Rick. That's a big deal and something we have not seen before. We need some Shane back.
