The Walking Dead

Missed the bus on that one (sorry) :thud: Who's watching Eugene?

Rewatch the season 5 trailer. It does seem like they are one big group. May not be the same bus...one scene does show Abraham drop to his knees and start crying while alone on a road. No clue what is coming next, makes it a lot of fun...:)

I keep checking this thread...kinda like the recruiting forum for more posts...moves slower here. Kinda dead :)

The Grove episode was very poor judgement by Carol...she knew how wacko Lizzie was and still left her alone with 2 essentially defenseless kids...

Still like Carol, but definitely not infallible...
One thing I like about the show, everyone has screwed up just like real life.

I didn't say she nervous messes up. She usually makes pretty calculated decisions, she isn't going to rush into very many things. Daryl can be lead by emotions at times, which is why he's a good right hand man instead of a leader.

I agree with the last part, I hate when a character is "perfect"

The Beth stuff may be a flash back to Daryl and Carol rescuing her. Carol is dead and Beth is in the bushes. Daryl looked pretty drained imo. But probably not. Who knows.

Was not bashing you...the Grove episode really bothered me. It was extremely dark and the good kid was killed due to the adults thinking they were in a safe place and letting their guard down and making bad decisions...at that point, the people are more dangerous than the Walkers...at least the walkers are predictable:hi:

Anybody else get the feeling Carol was looking to leave the group again. When Daryl superseded her at the car....

I think that she said that or at least hinted at it...she had come back for the two girls. With them gone, Daryl really is her only link to the group. Jmo

I hope not...Carol is in my top 3 on the show. The other two are Daryl and Rick. She has become an utter badass but has a wise presence. All this from the former battered mousewife.

Good episode. No one should be complaining about pacing so far. The writers have definitely learned from the mistakes of the extended prison arc.

Some really intense moments in this one. Gareth being all smug and then Bob drops the tainted meat bomb on 'em. Then the invasion of the church. You knew Rick and Co would double back. Pretty foolish of the hunters to not cover their backs. First Rick shot off Gareth's fingers. I laughed when that SOB started begging for his life. Then Rick started tapping the red handle of the machete I was like "oh hayull here it comes!"

Weird cliffhanger though. I was watching online and I had to go find another source to make sure I didn't miss something. I think the Morgan theory is pretty accurate.

I didn't take it as bashing at all, was clarifying what I meant, didn't mean it to come across defensive if it did. It was a really stupid decision, it's also another I think Carol will make calls not based on emotion. I'd be off by myself, people get to be full on crazy town in the ZA. :)

My top 3 is Carol, Glenn, and Michonne. Daryl used to be, but they've haven't really grown his character much lately. Carol's and Glenn's emergence along with Abraham showing up, has pushed him in the background. IMO Hopefully the next episode helps fix that.

There I was feeling all bad for Bob and then he starts laughing and drops the tainted meat bomb. I lol'd and thought what a brilliant way for him to go out. He's bit and missing a leg but he just took down 6 people with him. I thought it was mean but brilliant how the writers killed them off and we'll never know for sure if eating tainted meat does anything.

didn't want to waste the bullets

Freaking hilarious. Just like rubbing salt on the already dead guys wound.

There is no chance in hell that they kill off an epic character like Carol off screen. That's just blasphemous and would do nothing but seriously piss off the fan base.

I disagree. Carol has a friend in Rick and most definitely Tyrese at this point. Also, Daryl and Carol have that "secret love" connection that the show may or may not ever entertain.

I think they followed the car to where Beth is being kept. They then turned around to come back for help. I think that coming back into the church they came upon Morgan and captured him. Possibly did not kill him because they knew he was not part of the terminus people they knew.

I think Carol is leading Morgan. They may have captured him while he was trying to figure out what to do about the groups. I see Morgan being very wary of joining any group of people.

Morgan getting caught by Daryl and Carol?! Morgan is literally on the top of the list of badasses. The guy has been a lone survivor for roughly 3+ years(according to Talking Dead) of a zombie apocolypse. You don't get to a place like that making mistakes and not paying attention. Could be Carol with Beth and the Beth story is told in flashbacks like someone else already mentioned or it's Carol along with someone we don't know.

Shaking my head! Not one single comment about Rick letting Maggie and Glenn separate from the original group?! You people are slacking! Willful separation is unprecedented.

I think they rotate the main character storylines. Daryl had a strange one with Beth and the claimed group. He may still be processing everything. Happy to be back with the group; but conflicted because he probably feels that he failed Maggie and the group by not bringing Beth back safe. It is literally tearing him up that he could not protect her and bring her back safely. he went to bring Carol back when it was apparent she was trying to leave in that abandoned Cadillac.of course that completely changed when he saw the car with the cross in the back window.

I still wanted Gareth fed to the Walkers at the elementary school...so he can get a "taste" of his own medicine :)
But I am glad that Rick was able to fulfill his promise

:salute:

Agreed. I think they are continuing to develop Carol's character. Of course, they have killed off a parent main characters without much warning as well. dale is my prime example. But they have put Carol through so much transformation that I can't see them killing her off like that

True, but when Tyrese told her that he would make everyone understand about the girls, Carol gave him a very strange look.I don't think she wanted to go through the scrutiny of that event by the group members. I think she felt it was easier to just leave. I could be totally wrong, that Cadillac may have just been a back up plan. She does seem to be very thorough now.

Morgan was not mentally there when he was found by Rick. Not really sure how far back he has come. with the gunshots inside the church, I can see how Darryl and Carol could get the drop on him. Not really saying this has happened, but just trying to figure out how Morgan gets back into this storyline.

Unprecedented true.
However, the story of them heading to Washington needs to be explored further. The others need to try to go get Beth for Daryl's sake. This also allows multiple different storylines to keep the show rolling. This group is very formidable when all together. Abraham did give Rick a map with their route already marked on it.

I personally think that the mullet is full of it. I think he has Made everything up.

I'm suspicious of Eugene's plan as well - but he's been very convincing when he's spoken about it. The whole "flip the script" speech he gave was believable.

His only motive for lying, one would assume, would be self preservation; which doesn't add up since he's advocating they make a dangerous cross country trip to D.C.

If he is lying, I don't think it's because he wants to protect himself... there's something else we don't know about him...

I don't think Eugene is nearly as defenseless as he appears to be; he's actions when poop hits the fan seem exaggerated- like he's going out of his way to look defenseless.

I think the Beth backstory will be covered over two episodes and we won't get back to the last scene until after a break mid fall. Could be the abduction and torture of Beth for one episode and the next would b rescue and return w Daryl. Just my thought.

I'm in the camp that it was Beth in the woods w Daryl at the end of last episode. I also think Carol is either dead or missing again.

I think it is Beth too. Why would he tell Carol to hide?

If Carol was missing then she was either taken by those people in the black car or she drove off on her own. I doubt she is dead. I would be shocked if she were.

This show has proven to be pretty straight forward when a main character bites it - highly doubt Carol is dead.

I think he may have been a lab tech so he knows the back story of viral gene alteration...Just from his lack of social skills and interactions as well as his apparent intellect, it is almost like he is projecting as someone with Ashberger's Syndrome (they are usually very smart, but lack any social skills).

Maybe he was part of the lab responsible for the Walker virus? I wonder if they will ever reveal the beginning of the outbreak?

Ashberger's Doc? Is that a disease of the meniscus? "Leave him alone...he's rolling"

Kirkman has said he had no plans to explore the origins of the outbreak.

Never say never but I doubt they get into it.
