The Weightlifters Thread

Yeah deadlifts will turn you into Hulk. I think I overdid them, though. Taking a month off. I'm nearly sure my form was okay, but my back is sore as crap.
 
I'm thinking about starting to lift. Just kinda want to tone more than bulk up. Would lifting low weights at high reps be good for that?

You won't accidentally get too big unless you have great genes. Just get in the gym and lift hard. That'll tone you up. If you feel like you're getting too big, then change up, but I would think in most cases designing a workout to not get big will delay you reaching the shape you want to be in.

Yeah, you can't accidentally bulk up.

Over the years I've looked for ways to stay fit, and there's nothing more gratifying that lifting, IMO. You can lift as much and as frequently as you see fit to meet your goals.
 
I like training in nike free run shoes. I've got a couple of pairs. I like the thin sole and the flexibility of the shoe. However, I've worked out in just about everything from Jordans to flip flops.

I laugh at these posts & especially when I hear somebody say it in person. Maybe just take some aerobics classes.
 
Not impressed with the taste of ON extreme milk chocolate. Anybody know any good tasting powders?

Also, today is my last day on OEP/jack3d and C20. Not overly impressed, but it did have a noticeable effect. It's not a miracle pill, but it did help me have a clean bulk. Now I have to roll up my sleeves and diet to lose the fat that was already there. Didn't gain any fat, but didn't lose much either.

Try cinnabun trutein. By far the best tasting I've ever tried ( granted, that has only been syntha-6 and gold standard) it really is quite good tho. I drink it when I have a sweet tooth sometimes, it only has like 120 calories a scoop I think and very few carbs.

They have other flavors like chocolate dipped strawberry and chocolate covered banana. I tried the choc. Banana but I don't really care for banana flavored things. Love real banana's tho.

What's funny exactly?

It's funny that somebody thinks lifting a few weights is gonna turn them into a bodybuilder overnight. It's far from that easy unless you are gifted with tremendous genetics & most aren't. The folks that always worry about getting "too big" never have anything to worry about to begin with. That's the funny part.

I try to use free weights for most lifts. I like to incorporate a few machines though - my favorite is the hammer strength high row. I will also use the pec deck. Anyone got some others they like?
