The Weightlifters Thread

I am actually considering competing in bodybuilding next year. A friend of mine that works out at the same gym that I do competed in one in Louisville, and came in 4th. He was the only one that was there that wasn't on the juice. I thought that was pretty cool. As much time as I spend at the gym, I figured I might as well do something with it. There is a show in Knoxville next year in July that I would like to try.

That is awesome, I am planning on doing a natural show in 2014. Good luck if you decide to do it. Some of the best natural coaches you should look into are Layne Norton, Paul Revelia or Team 3DMJ.

Thanks man. I'll probably just wing it my first go around, and if I got to to where I was serious about doing it I might get a coach. My friend has agreed to work with me as far as poses go.

Nice...are you pretty well set up? I used to home gym it, but I was limited in what I could do, and I also often had sessions interrupted. Going to the gym ensures I get my 40-60 minutes done without interruption.

Yeah I've got a really nice setup IMO. I've gathered things over the years a little at a time. I've got a squat rack, commercial body solid bench (w/ attachments for leg extensions/curls, abs, and a preacher bench), dumbells to 80 pounds, heavy bag, a treadmill, and a stationary bike. The only thing I really want are more dumbells. I want a pair of 125's.

Yesterday when I got off work I was pumped about chest day. Once I got home my girl started whining about being hungry and not wanting to wait on me. I caved and did some grilling. So guess what? It's chest day again! Hooray! Hopefully I don't get sidetracked again...

Just crushed legs at golds gym in Las Vegas. The one in summerlin. Place was pretty sweet. Did back squats, sumo deadlifts, hack squats, and stiff legged deads. Then threw in a few exercises for calves.

That's dedication. If I were in Vegas, I would just take the week off, haha.

Unless it was a destination for you, to hit up Gold's Gym.

I'm not into lifting enough to give a shat about going to a gym while in Las Vegas. :hi:

You gonna make it out to Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon? Hoover is about a 45 minute drive from LV. It's a great place to spend the day, and then be back in town to live it up that night.
