Anyone have any ideas on diets for cutting weight?

I have lost 50 pounds in 5 months. I walk a mile or better a day. My favorite is grilled turkey burgers. You have to be patient and adjust your calorie intake. You can periodically eat a sweet not often. Same with bread and potatoes, chips, ice cream, all diet killers. No more fast food hamburgers (only periodically) no more breakfast sandwiches. No more three or even two full meals a day. Also stop salt intake. A lot of days if I feel I overate I will walk 1/4 to 1/2 a mile on top of my regular walk. I prayed about it to be honest and started doing my part as God was always doing his part as in all things. Good luck.

Grilled chicken, fish, sweet potatoes, and water. Keep calories around 2000-2500. Reduce carb intake to around 200 grams . Reduce your fats and sugars significantly. Spinach leaves, balsamic vinegar. Anything green is a good diuretic. Asparagus is excellent. Increase reps, and reduce weights in the gym, and around 30-45 min of cardio a day, or every other day. Wind sprints, treadmill, ext. No fruits. Stick to whole foods, and reduce your dairy intake. Whey protein is fine. How much weight do you plan on losing, and how soon kind of plays a part as well.

How many meals a day are you eating?

I am around 185-190 range and I plan on cutting to work on my ab muscles. So far I've eaten 4 egg whites and a banana for breakfast. I'm going to eat a turkey sandwich on wheat with an apple an Greek yogurt for lunch. Protein shake post workout and grilled chicken breast and broccoli for dinner. I plan on getting almonds and cottage cheese to implement in my diet. Also an apple with peanut butter should be good, right? How long should I do cardio at the gym too? I'm going to work back and bi's at the gym with abs

I'd start by differentiating my complex carbs, and simple cards. Study up on what foods fall under those categories. Always stick to simple carbs before your workout. Example-Breads and stuff. Eat complex carbs after your workout. Example- sugars, fruits, dairy, ext. you don't want to have a lot of sugars and simple carbs before your workout, because of the insulin spike. Basically your body reacts to it during your workout and it all turns to fat. The logic behind this is similar to people who drink diet coke because they think it helps then lose weight. Basically your body senses the sugar, but there is not any there for the body to absorb...so it turns to fat. Fruits should be fine, but wait till after your workout. If you are not getting the results you want cut out your fruits. Fruits are just not ideal during cutting. Do cardio post workout 30-45 minutes. Take a multivitamin that has the minerals and stuff in it that you would get out of fruits like potassium.

I don't even know what the hell to do at the gym anymore. Since moving and losing my good gym, I've been forced to go to a Fitness Express, that doesn't really have much in the way of weights. One bench/squat rack and dumbbells up to 75lbs. I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to take the bar off the rack to do deadlifts. Wish there was a better gym anywhere near my house.

Dude that sucks. Having the right gym helps to stay motivated. My gym in Utah was so awesome. Never had to wait on free weights, never felt crowded, really fit people that inspired you, etc. My gym here in Phoenix is just OK and I went from going 5 times a week to 2-3 times a week.

Today: 4 Egg whites with one egg yolk for breakfast... snack about 30 almonds... lunch turkey salad... snack another 30 almonds... preworkout apple with peanut butter and a greek yogurt... dinner prbably some broccoli and grilled chicken with tabasco hot sauce... and a protein shake after working out too. How does that sound?

How are your energy levels? I couldn't make it through the day without carbs. I'd say at your size you need at least 100 grams of carbs a day.

I had a baked potato for dinner too, so thats some carbs. Also I am going to start eating toast with breakfast and wheat bread for lunch.

Gah. My squat is horrible after not doing it since 2011. 205x8 was my top today. My Max is probably about 250#, which is just over my body weight. I used to be in the 400# range. Oh well, start all over again, I guess. Shoulder injury also makes it really painful to hold the bar after about 20 reps.

I'm right there with you. Had a hamstring injury awhile back. 3 sets of 8 on bench is around 250, but squats are 205-225.

My bench is just over 100lbs because of a shoulder and wrist injury.

I did legs on Sunday, still difficult to walk today. Not doing something right in the recovery department.

I've been doing a combo of p90x & rush fit. Sucks that it dubs through the holidays because it'll definitely offset some results for a week or so.

I take hydroxycut hardcore elite and it's super super strong. You're supposed to take two pills, twice daily but that's way too much for me. I only take two pills and I still have pretty bad side effects with jitters and stuff.

I have been back now for about a month...been scared to post in here, bc it seems like right after I do, I get hurt somehow...lol...but my strength is returning quickly and my endurance is gradually. I am trying to make sure to get at least 20-30 min of cardio in a day, even if not all at once. Did Triceps tonight and got 330 on close grip bench 5x. I have my hands just inside my body on the bar, any closer in and its too painful. Did kickbacks with a pause at top and then did tricep pushdowns with straight bar and wide grip. Finished with chair dips to failure...Did barbell and dumbbell shrugs also. Heavy with chains on barbell and 120s on dumbbells...starting to get the good feeling and desire to go every day bc I am getting back to my old self after all the injuries and medical problems this year...

I am not dieting...lol...eating anything and everything right now until February...going for major strength gains...in Feb I will cut some stuff out and start eating cleaner but still a lot of it bc I want to max on Bench, Squat and Dead lift by end of March. Then I will cut.
