The Weightlifters Thread

I'm just saying 25lbs is a lot. It would be hard to gain 25lbs of fat let alone muscle. Also don't put everything into supplements. I've tried just about all of them. All you need is plain creatine mono, protein, & maybe a pre-workout. Brand is up to you although I loved the old jack3d. ON creapure for creatine & ON 100% for protein.

Agreed. I just buy the cheapest protien by gram, cheapest creatine, and cheapest glutamine.

Bodybuilding.coms brand is the cheapest creatine ad glutamine I've found. And bioplex has the best deal on protein.

Do you stay on creatine year around?

Thursday was a light but intense Back and Bicep Bodybuilding day...more Back than Bicep bc everyone knows that when you work back, you are working your Biceps also. Did some forearm work also.

Friday...Upper Body Speed day...did approx. 50% of my max on bench (haven't maxed, so just estimated 450 w/a pause) 225, for 12 sets of 3reps with 60sec rest btw sets :pukeb:

Then did shoulder presses with the Diamond Bar, never thought of using that before but it was awesome. Took so much stress off the shoulder joint. Did 3sets of 10-12 reps then a 4th set to failure.

Next was Dips to failure, 4 sets

Finished with a set of 50reps on Tricep pushdowns...he wanted to me do a set of a 100...I only had 45lbs on machine w/the big pipe (it is so round a cant get my hand half way around)...the first 15-20 were comical how light they were, then I hit 25 and it was like I got hit by a truck, lol...I struggled to get to 50, but I did and I couldn't move haha, or drive to work hardly...

Just left GNC. I bought a metal blender bottle. Hopefully it won't develop an odor like my plastic one did.

I have high hopes for the metal bottle. I had tried everything to make my plastic one smell better, but it was hopeless.

If it doesn't hold in odors, I'll probably I buy 2 or 3 more.

Do you know how?

No. It didn't hurt during the workout, but a couple days ago I was doing 135 12 times for a warm up and it felt uncomfortable. So I stopped because I didn't want to injure it any further. So these last two chest/tri's day I've only done tri's. Also, I tried the seated dip machine, and I coul feel it there. Not sure how serious it is, but it's very disappointing.

injuries suck

What's your go to workout album and or mix?

I'm rocking out to White Pony by the Deftones right now. I especially like to play Change on my last set. Kinda lame but I normally say to myself before the set "watch me change".

i go no music. i like it to be just me and the weights as much as possible. also probably explains me going to the gym at 6 am to avoid as many other people as possible

Anyone want to give an example of their biceps workout?

I'm a minimalist. I'm normally only doing one exercise per body part (exception being back). So I only do concentration curls.

When I do arms I do 4x8 on overhead tricep press. Then 4x8 on concentration curls.

If I hit a plateau I'll take the last weight I completed 4 sets with and do as many sets as it takes to hit a predetermined rep range (normally 45-60 reps). I'll do that for about 2-3 weeks and then get back to my 4x8.

Beyond that I bench heavy with a medium grip so that helps my triceps, and I do heavy bent over rows and weighted pull-ups which help my biceps.
