The Weightlifters Thread

Anyone want to give an example of their biceps workout?

i do a push/pull split.
so they are part of pull day.

i basically do by back work (pull ups, bent over rows, etc) until i am fatigued.
then i go do bicep curls.
I generally do what i call a jump set/drop set.
that starts with a low weight, and do 5 reps, then immediately go to the next weight up. keep going until you cant get 5 reps, then go back down
 
Having forearm pain while using an easy curl bar on overhead triceps press. Anyone else have similiar issues? Do I simply need to strengthen my forearms?
 
Saturday: Speed/Lower Body Day...

Squats: 12 sets of 3 reps 60 sec rest...used chains as a stopper, in other words, they were hanging in a loop and when bar settled in and stopped our momentum, we exploded up...started out about 8 links high from ground and continuously lowered our way down...we used 50% of max, working on conditioning and form.

Dead lifts: 4-5 sets of 10 working on form and conditioning...

Leg Press: 4-5 sets of 15-20

Got thru the dead lifts but only one set of Leg Press...still a little sore.

Monday: Heavy Upper Body Day

Bench: Heavy sets with Axle Bar(80Lbs and thick, so thick i cant get my hands around it) and Chains(3 27lb chains hooked on each side let out to 18 links) for every set. Worked my way up to 6 45lb plates(3 on each side) and did 4 sets of 1. I was doing 405lbs for reps before I started this new program and that weight last night was at my max...that one rep was heavy as Hek...I had never used chains, but now I am a believer...that is true DEAD WEIGHT...

Incline DBells: 90 lbs 4sets 12reps.

Standing One Arm Dbells Tricep Extensions: 30lbs 4sets 12 reps

Standing Bent Over Dbell Butterflies: 25lb 4 sets 12 reps

Dips: 1 set finished to failure...2nd set got 2 reps in and right arm gave out...so technically I guess I did it to failure :)

question for yall:

What do yall usually eat before working out? (this also kind of depends on what time you go to workout, as you will have eaten more during the day if you workout at night)

A lot of times I go around 12 or 1pm, but I have classes before that. I don't want to eat a lot right before, but sometimes I get light headed while working out if I don't eat anything or enough for fuel.

just looking for suggestions.

im trying to cut, so currently i dont eat a lot before i lift.

other times i will go with a pb and j and a glass of milk
 
Finished my 3rd week of a P90X/insanity hybrid. I didn't think the cardio in P90X was the best & it got boring so I subbed in insanity.

I'll do a P90X muscle group M, W, & F..insanity cardio Tue, Thurs, Sat. Insanity is no freaking joke..it's brutal.

Down about 4-5 lbs so far, which I'm sure is mostly water..looking forward to finishing the last 2 months.
 
I have found that if I take my pre workout sup on an empty stomach then I tend to get sick at my stomach, but if I eat something, lately a PB&J, I am good to go. I use Muscle Pharm Assault.
 
I'm in the market for a new Olympic bar. Idk why mine bent like that. I only had 305 on it. I'm guessing it may have been a 35lb bar.
