The Weightlifters Thread

Planet Fitness is for people who don't want to work hard and don't want to look at or watch other people work hard...sound familiar here in America?

I'm trying to cut up myself. I bulk during the winter. I am down to 210lbs. More than 230 lbs makes me look like a monster since I am only 5'10".

dang, now I have a complex...I am 5'11" 320...

on a different note...has anyone ever tried Floor Presses (with Barbell/just like a bench)?

I did it for the first time ever Friday night. It was awkward at first but I got use to it...it really made you concentrate on your form and it is harder than a regular bench. I maxed out on it and got 430...considering you cant really use a leg drive or push off chest (bc elbows on floor stop bar about 2inches above) I thought that was pretty good.

People look good at different weights. For me 230 lbs means a little big for me. At 210 lbs I have around 16 in arms. I carry a lot of weight in my chest and legs. I don't have too much desire to get too big. Clothes are hard enough to buy without hitting 2xl and bigger.

Keep in mind, my definition of big and monster size is different that most of y'all's. I don't like being too big. Just like a little muscle and good definition. I am nowhere near the shape that a lot of y'all are. Also I would gladly take some tips on lifting as well. I have only seriously been lifting for about 4 years.

I remember those days...good times.

Just started hitting the gym again this week. Haven't been in about 6 months because of work and college. Feels good to by back but lost a lot of muscle, strength and endurance. Was 220 when I stopped weighed in yesterday at 200, granted I did lose some fat but lost muscle as well. Was repping 225 on flat bench and was struggling to get 180.

I am not in my best shap, unfortunately. I look pretty good except my stomach. I've tried a lot of different things, including upping my cardio and even adding yoga. I can't give up beer and that's gotta be my problem. I have 2-3 dark beers probably 3-4 nights a week.

Amen. I probably have as small of a belly now as i did when i ran half marathons. since then i cut out traditional cardio and replaced it with intense lifting and occasional HIIT. This led to a 30 pound weight gain in two years, but only a 2% body fat gain.

My cardio consists of stairs or intervals on the treadmill. Not exactly full sprints, but pretty close to it for a quarter mile at a time and I walk a few minutes, go again for 25-30 minutes. I do one or the other once a week.
