The Weightlifters Thread

Kai looks huge. I am one who believes the Olympia results are somewhat fixed. Previously I would have said Phil is going to win it every year for 8 years, considering he's great and he's a Weider guy. But Kai has emerged as a fan favorite. I think it would be good for the sport if he won one. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave it to him.

IMO, Phil is a better bodybuilder, though I'm a bigger fan of Kai. Phil's just got a much smaller mid-section and his shape is better. That being said, Kai is achieving ungodly size. I don't like the big stomach, but he can do enough to compensate for that, IMO, if he does show up at his best.

From the pictures I've seen, Kai fixed his mid section. He looks bigger and better than Phil. Kai has him in legs, back, and abs. He looks more conditioned this year. But we'll see.

Yeah, he's always had him with legs and back, IMO. Kai might be best ever when you combine those 2 body parts. If his mid-section is super tight, it could be no contest.

Phil's arms are just so awesome, though.

Yeah, dude. Kai's stomach looks great. I'd need to see a lot more to call a champion, but they look like they're on the same level. I don't think Rhoden looks as good as last year, based on this picture.

Not to be a party pooper, but can those guys do the atlas stones? Posing to show off your muscles seem stupid to me. I want to see some metal, stone, or even wood fly around.

I can't explain it, but I also don't understand why people want to watch others lift heavy weights, either.

There is nothing about a man that I find attractive or impressive.

I don't get the bodybuilding competitions. I especially hate the tanning bed appearance.

The women's fitness comps are hot though. Just get rid of those fake tans.

I love watching the World's Strongest Man because they are an achievement in human physique.

fyp....I get that, but I don't understand why it's a draw. Why is a feat of strength entertaining? Why is a feat of bodybuilding entertaining?

I can't really explain it.

The same reason people watch track races, football games, among other things. As a people, we love watching competitions of various sorts. Some like American Idol, Survivor, or other reality/ game shows. We just happen to like sports.

I'm about 10 weeks into my diet. Down 14 lbs and I can't tell that I've lost any muscle. I think I got 5 more to lose before I gotta start worrying about losing gains.

No ring on the finger?

Oh, LOL. No. Never wear it. I hate jewelry. I have bad circulation and my hands and feet swell intermittently, and it makes rings very uncomfortable.

Fortunately I have a wife who doesn't care. I guess I've earned that trust, though. My ring was lost for like 2 years and we just found it, actually.

Nice my wife makes sure mine is on. I spent a year in havasu and that was rough.
