The whole black coach issue

What makes a coach a good recruiter is whether the kids think that he is cool. Cool is not easily defined but like it it factor some folks got it some folks don't. Cool is not defined by color either but by a sense of connection between people.

Interesting, I thought only the white folk could be racist? Or at least that's what the media and 90% of Americans seem to believe.

Sweet, in alabama 90% of the people who get arrested on the everyday basis is white... But 90% of the people in prison is black.. Thing have change a lot ...

Lol I'd love to see some real data on that, instead of your bs numbers.

And then one would have to parse through the data to find usable information. For instance, if the arrest ratio is 60 white to 40 black, and the prison ratio is 60 black to 40 white, one would need to find the trends of what whites are arrested for, compared to blacks.

One would need to find trends per economic indicators, educational indicators, etc...

To immediately bring it to a racial issue is borderline racist itself.

But first, lets see real data instead of internet creativity.

You are right !!!!

Inmate Population as of 03/01/2013
Black Males: 16971 White Males: 11451 Other Males: 58
Black Females: 832 White Females: 1699 Other Females: 5
TOTAL MALES: 28480 TOTAL FEMALES: 2531 TOTAL INMATES: 31011
Now the population of the state
White persons, percent, 70.1% 78.1%
Black persons, percent, 26.5% 13.1%

Why is that?

Wrong my politically correct robot...

Staffs need to hire the most talented, able to coach, able to relate, able to inspire, ethical coaches that are available regardless of color.

If you're interested in MLK, he said its not the color of your skin, but the content of your character that matters.

A token is a token regardless of intentions. No one wants to be a token.
Its about diversity in the staff as well as the most qualified. There are more than enough qualified African Americans in coaching that teams can be representative of that. To not do that is a slap in the face of African Americans and it can be insinuated that we are not qualified. We don't need that used against us in recruiting we're dealing with enough crap in Vol country.

90% white arrests and 90% black prison population up in those stats? If so, it sounds like Alabama is unjustly profiling white people, and arresting them for no just cause. I say we start a petition.

They don't usually send you to The Big House for drunk and disorderly, whereas they do for murder and robbery. Without a complete racial breakdown of arrests and sentencing, and the exact crimes committed, and a summary of the evidence of each case, your post means next to nothing.

Disagree all you want saban isn't the only guy recruiting man. Believe me Saban ain't taking is himself down into the hoods in Florida or Alabama to recruit anyone. In the hood the only time you see white folks is if they are Junkies or if they are five oh aka the police

How do you know Saban isn't going to the hood? You sound stupid.

Remember that the argument that he is trying to support is the proposition that things have not improved in race relations in the US in the last 50 years. The specific reply was to a picture of a "Colored Waiting Room" sign.

That doesn't mean more whites are arrested, as you tried to claim.

Even with those numbers though, you have to consider the following:

1. Large black populations exists within the city, where the majority of cops are.

2. A very large percentage of the prison population is there for drug related charges and/or theft/ burglary. Both of which are crimes typically associated with poverty.

The lack of "Colored Waiting Room" signs doesn't lie either. You made a dumbass statement. Go ahead and admit it.

Things have come a long way in 50 years. If you can't recognize that, you've been locked in a closet for 50 years and we need to come rescue you.

PS: You have no clue how old most of us are here.

To say things have not changed is ridiculous. There has been alot of change in fifty years. Things need to improve from a coaching standpoint but that doesn't mean nothing has changed.

Staffs USED this to negative recruit us.

Then those staffs are the ones that are racist for making a point out of it... GOD, I am SO SICK of the 'race card' being continually throne around..

You hire the best coach/recruiter you can, REGARDLESS of skin color...

I could not care less if another staff is low enough to use those tactics and if they do they are the ones with the problem and frankly they are scumbags for using gutter tactics like that... Not to mention it doesn't reflect very well on the intelligence of players that fall for that crap... Kinda makes them look like racist dumbasses also...

And to the guy who insuated the South hasn't changed.... Really, you can't be serious... Damn, get the **** over it..

I haven't seen one of those in about 50 years. Not long before that, we were killing Japanese and Germans. Things change.
