The Wichita State Postgame Report

Why doesn't Golden take it to the whole like that all the time? He got to the line so much!

Yeah I know I watched it. But he had a couple of wide open looks.

Oh lol.

Yea I don't remember him making one now that I think of it.

He usually shoots good at home...when he missed that one late off the inbounds play I thought it was really going to come back to bite us.

Lopez was competent tonight off the bench, but I agree with ZJC 100% that Moore is too talented to not play.

Ill take the win, can't wait for maymon to come back. Will be tough to cover him and jarnell

Jarnell has been a disappointment this year. And no not just offensively...so it can't solely be tied to Maymon.

His footwork is bad on defense, and he is lazy when it comes to rebounding, very lazy.

Hall absolutely abused stokes all night and beat him over and over again to loose ball, really was frustrating.

A good lesson for the youngster.
I do think he'll graduate.

Did anyone else yell out 50 like Ben Stiller in Along Came Polly when we finally scored that many points in a game?

Which player to use might depend on competition, too. Wichita State is aggressive on defense, but they aren't tremendously athletic like Memphis.

Not accurate actually. They played zone for about five minutes and UT was able to break it (mostly by getting to the FT line).

I think it was more like one possession.
No where near 5 minutes.
Just sayin.

Yes, Stokes's rebounding was really frustrating, especially considering him looking like a monster on the boards in other games...

This could be a stretch, but Stokes seemed like a liability tonight. Really hope it was a fluke, but he hasn't looked too hot in a couple other games this season, idk.

I swear it was multiple possessions. Cause McRae hit that three to put us up six and WSU was just in a zone the possession before.

Might not have been five minutes. I could be wrong there.

That's true. Considering WSU's PG wasn't a 5'11 150lber, I am disappointed that Moore didn't get a single minute tonight.

1. You take top 25 wins all day, every day. For a team that was down in the dumps and spirits weren't good, this is a big win. This wasn't a must win, but it was a very necessary win.

Huh?

You sound like the coaching staff probably sounded before the game, as they tried to sell it as a must-win without calling it that.

Technically, there would have been more than enough significant games remaining to dig ourselves out had we lost this game, but I honestly think a loss tonight would have led us back down the path of needing multiple SECT wins just to make the field. Now, we need to avoid wasting this win by taking care of business at home these next few games.

Random question that I'm sure has been asked before...who is the player at the end of the bench in orange warmups not named miller or maymon? Can't find him on the roster anywhere. Thanks.

I don't think it's a stretch. Never thought I'd say it but I said it earlier..we were better without him on the floor tonight.

Martin said after the game that Lopez does a good job running the offense and that he has earned the minutes in practice.

Sounds like he's sticking with Lopez for awhile.

I'll go with Coach Zo then.

I just feel like Moore should be getting some minutes. Maybe move Q to the bench, give Edwards the minutes at 4?
