The Gamecocks win over Wisconsin of the big 10 in the bowl game just improved our stock especially with them being one of a few SEC teams with wins so far.

It has always looked good.

I think it is somewhat lost that we kept them out of the NC, possibly.

Agree, OP. UCF's only loss was to USCjr. As was Mizzou's before the SEC championship game. USCjr was a good, good football team this year.

If UCF had played Florida's schedule this year, they might have won the east. And beaten GaSou, but I digress.

Well we definitely kept them out of the SEC Championship game.

Either that UGA loss or our win was what kept them out of the conference title game over Missouri.

Moral of the story....we showed flashes of good things....flashes....building it into weekly great things is what is needed.

Since it has been well documented on vn that the coaches couldn't do anything this year with this too slow, not talented enough, non-sec caliber roster against the toughest schedule in the history of the planet in any sport on any continent, I would like to credit the too slow, not talented enough, non-sec caliber players who made that a memorable day at Neyland.

I agree. They beat Mizzou and Clemson. I think that game shows that Butch and our staff has what it takes to win and win big. They just need a few new horses.

Save yourself some time and just credit Marquez North.

Yep, this. Great win. Too bad the season fell apart right after.

You forgot to mention that Butch out-coached Spurrier as well.

What changed after the SC game???

We lost Worley!

For better or worse, we were better with him at the helm.

I wish more Vol fans would accept his. Apparently the SC game was pure luck. See I have argued with people on here that the SC was a great, legit win. We outplayed them and beat them straight up. However some on here who consider themselves fans have told me that SC is usually due for one bad game a year and we were just lucky enough to play them on that day. Total BS. Our win against SC was good and bad. Good that we beat a top 11 team and great for morale. It was bad because Worley got injured and that killed our season.

you can't suck all the credit for beating USCe and then completely forget about the garbage performance vs. Vandy at home..

The win over South Carolina shows anything can happen and that's why the game is played. Honestly, I don't buy the idea it improved our stock when we followed it up with blow out losses to Bama, Mizzou, and Auburn. Losing is one thing, those three teams rocked us hard. Then we lost to freakin' Vandy. Yeah, yeah, I'm being negative, but I'm not one to lie to myself. We still have a ways to go.

And I don't buy Worley was the key.
