Again, he did not do it for you or any of the fans. He did not leave Richmond to come to UT because of his passion for making fans happy. He did it for the prestige, money and future opportunities.
And again, since everyone is NOT primarily motivated by these things AND because this particular guy turned his back on those things to stay in the field he loved... Your assumption of his motives IS NOT a statement of FACT.

You seem to be quite good at putting people in boxes.
Your own words formed your box... don't get angry with me because I saw it.

Again, can you tell me your church so I can be sure never to attend it?
If you believe anything close to what you seem to be suggesting here... you desperately need a good church.

Invitation to all. If I am somehow misreading what allvol123 is saying then please let me know. In a nutshell, he seems to be saying that everyone's ultimate motive at all times in their work lives is the pursuit of money and promotion.

Is that a mischaracterization allvol123?

Good job Crusse. In case you are not aware, he was already a HEAD COACH at a college. Wonder why he left? Must be because we have so many fans he could make happy.
You can mock all you want but there are people whose material desires aren't what motivates them. They'd much rather have the affection and approval of other people.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of "The Five Love Languages". That would be an easy place to start educating yourself that everyone isn't motivated by money and promotion.

Turned his back on what? Richmond? Ah yes, for his pure love of the game.

My church is fine, I've noticed no pastor there that resembles you. The day I do, I find another church.

No mischaracterization. At the root, all our motivations are selfish. If you mean selfish by wanting more to take care of your family and yourself.

1 Corinthians 13 says something far different than this as does 1 John. Love is the greatest motivator... and is specifically NOT selfish according to the Bible.

you guys need to take this the pm's

OK rex. At your behest, I'll drop it.

to offer something that pertains to the world of recruiting; the 2011 guys are already getting serious attention.

ATH:Devrin Young Bearden,TN

ATH:Jabriel Washington Jackson,TN

QB:Kevonte Richardson Millwood,OK

QB:Tyler Rice Wayne County,TN

RB:Jeremiah Bryson Smyrna,TN

RB:Chris Sensabaugh Kingsport,TN

and check this kid out (he's 14 years old):

Kenny Hillard Patterson, LA
The 5-11, 213-pound Hilliard was a Louisiana 3A first team All-State selection, a clear testament to development beyond his years.

He averaged over 6.8 yards per carry and finished with over 1,800 yards despite not being on varsity for Patterson’s first two games.

“His vision is probably the thing that sets him apart,” head coach Tommy Minton said. “He can see the crease, and has the ability and acceleration to bust through it.”

This bickering is silly. You can bet most coaches on any level do it for the love of the game and love of kids. And of course they want to win. Money is important, otherwise you are wasting your time if you don't get paid decent, but it is not the primary objective.

Fine. List me what you think Clawson's reasons were for leaving Richmond to come to UT. List in order of importance.

I don't think there is any question that money was a huge factor. Wouldn't anyone want to get paid more for doing the same job?

Of course any sane person would. However, some people would view this as cynical and perhaps rank other reasons higher.

Good to hear some appreciation and respect (from most of the fans) for the people who work hard to bring great football to Tennessee

You would think we would have gotten past this issue of color, especially in this day and age! Sadly some people just don't get it.
