The Worst Firing In Sports History Was

The evidence is the quick promotion Phil got. Did we interview anyone. I've only heard this 10,000 times on VN. Also, Johnny's bitterness suggests it.

Because he stepped in and won while CJM was on leave. And I have asked 10,000 times for proof and nothing yet. Johnny's bitterness is his own doing.

At this point, I don't know. I was barely alive in Major's last full season. All I was debating was how great Phil was. I think were all agreeable. I wish we hired better in the past.

At least you are a stand-up poster. You don't just say something and leave. But NO we are not agreeable. CPF was one of the greatest coaches ever in Tennessee history.

I agree with you, but so was Johnny Majors. Now that I realize it. I was pattling the same boat with 5 different oars.

johnny majors won 57% of his conference games. he was 57-40-3 at tennessee. 26 of the wins came against vandy and kentucky.

he was 31-36-3 against the rest of the league.

phil fulmer was 98-34 in sec play, winning 74% of his conference games. 33 wins came against vandy and kentucky.

he was 65-33 against the rest of the rest of the league.

it's not even close.

as for the championships, phil didn't have the benefit of being gifted championships because the team that actually won the league was on probation

I can't say that Fulmer should not have been fired, just that he never should have allowed 2008 to happen. That season finished him.

I can say that the firing was badly bungled and the replacement hirings bungled even worse.

I don't think anyone can say that we would not have been better off keeping Fulmer than what actually occurred.

But on a final note...anyone who thinks Majors deserved to be fired less than Fulmer should put down the crack pipe, NOW!

Mike Brown of the Lakers AND then not hiring Phil Jackson. Just Mike Brown alone who cares. Worst of the year.
