The Worst Firing In Sports History Was

What exactly is laughable about the notion that Fulmer is one our best coaches? Only Neyland has a better record. The fact that so many so-called Vol "fans" actively seek to discredit Fulmer is downright pathetic.

Gotta agree with you here. I despise Phil Fulmer, but in the pantheon of UT coaches, it has to go Neyland, Fulmer, and third place isn't close.

Yes, pkt vol, please name all those other coaches of our's with more productivity than Fulmer, and thus knocking him off a list of "one of our greatest coaches ever." Who would be all those other guys?

I honestly think that we are terrible at hiring coaches through out history. If second place is our second best in history, then I really hope Butch is great. If were competiting with Bama and Florida, 1 championship in 16 years isn't good enough.

Would u like to tell me the last year UT won a NC before 98....what bama has done isn't the norm and won't last forever

1951 with big jim! That's why we need a Saban streak in our future.

As much as I'd like it, coming from a guy who thinks we can win every game till proven otherwise, it just isn't realistic. Like i said, what Saban is doing isn't common for any team and i don't think it will be for them much longer in the capacity of NCs. Fulmer got us one and still did well in the 2000s besides 05 and 08...he had us in the SECCG in 07 and had the number 6 recruiting class despite the season we had in 08...In other words I expect to compete for one every year but I realize only 1 can win it and during those 16 years, we were competing for 14

Hard to see anyone stick up for Fulmer, at the end, it was horrible. A real nightmare. Could'nt even hike the fricken ball. Recruiting had went to s..., Totally incompetant offense resulting in Sanders quitting - and by the way I didn't blame Sanders because Fulmer blew it. Discipline was crap, directly on Fulmer. We were a total loser of a football team. To me it has all been worth it just to get that fat piece of lard away from our program. And I don't like his wife either. I despise Fulmer and
always will.

You are a loser.

They call it "The Fulmer Cup" for a reason!:dance2: He got rich and trashed our program.:eek:hmy: Everything that happened was, still is, and always will be his fault. He was a recruiter and that's all he ever was. :yes:When he stopped doing that, it was the end of the program. :unsure:That and he was totally incompetent at hiring coaches. :ermm:He was incompetant at everything he did.:salute: If the game was close and
depended in any way on the lard ass he
would screw it up everytime. :clapping:Spurrier owned Fulmer as every other good coach did. :eek:lol: David Cutcliffe was the real master of the program.:peace2:

Every post you have made is complete crap. If it wasn't for Fulmer, you wouldn't have seen a national championship. You are just a little butthurt idiot that has trouble forming paragraphs.

All UT needed was for Summit to have a spell during a game and freak out. That would've gone over real well.

Congratulations. I have heard inappropriate and brain dead responses on here before, but this is above and beyond. From what I have seen of Pat Summitt over the years, she is responding to this diagnosis with courage, and has all the resources around her to prevent this from occurring.

But just on the chance that DID happen, to anyone who thought it poor judgment to have Pat doing her job, I would give them the same response I give your comment

I wish I could give you 100 more "likes" for your response. You beat me to it. Some people on here are unbelievable. I bet this poster does not answer your post.

What does grace or courage have to do with the effects of dementia?
It was time for it to end, sad but that's how it goes. There's a fine line between sentimentality and stupidity, and you've clearly missed the last exit on the sentimentality side.

God........you're so stupid.

It would be crazy to think the SEC in the 90s is anywhere close to modern SEC. If Phil didn't make the program dive bomb, people wouldn't be angry about Phil. His laziness in bit him in the end. I didn't really watch college football before I was 7, so I've never seen pre-98 Phil. 2000's Phil got caught from behind.

As someone posted earlier, Fulmer never recovered from the 2001 SEC Title Game. Something about him forever changed after that night.
