They have to win game 1, first, so they'll fire all their bullets if they're available. If they save him for game 2 a day later on Thursday, that puts his weekend availability in greater jeopardy than pitching him on Wednesday. Their season is on the line tomorrow first and foremost...Arnold will go on 4 days rest if necessary, perhaps with a pitch count.FSU has to weigh a lot more than we do in regards to their pitching. If they do use Arnold and win then they're without him for game two and potentially the weekend championship. I think they will try to win tomorrow without and then try to use him on Thursday if that game is needed. But, who knows.

I agree. My thought is that 4 days rest is not enough. May try to get that 1 extra day in. Also, if I remember correctly, wasn't their reliever who came in also a starting pitcher? They have to win game 1, first, so they'll fire all their bullets if they're available. Whittaker was the reliever that followed Arnold. He's been a spot starter throughout the season, but their two main guys are Arnold and Carson Dorsey. Dorsey pitched Sunday in the elimination game against UVA. Whittaker pitched today against UNC and threw 21 pitches giving up a 3-run homer to Vance Honeycutt and looking like slaw, tbh. So, I'd say Dorsey and Whittaker are out. Cam Leiter is hurt and yet to appear in any games. My guess is that Arnold starts tomorrow, probably on a 70-pitch count. Then, if necessary, you'll see Dorsey on Thursday on a similar pitch count. Noles are desperate and short on arms.I agree. My thought is that 4 days rest is not enough.
