The worst part of facing FSU again

Winning a national championship doesn’t come easy. I personally think the two best teams left are us and Florida State. And I think the winner of our bracket will win the national championship. Can FSU beat us two straight? Sure especially in baseball. Will they? Don’t think so, we’ve not lost two straight since the Bama series and don’t think we would in this situation. Too much on the line and our players know this. Their ace will probably go Wednesday, as it’s an elimination game for them plus he would be available again if they make championship series. Vols have seen him once so they should have an advantage. On the flip side, if we have to play a if necessary on Thursday, they had great success for the most part against Causey who would be our pitcher for that game most likely . I like our chances, we have two games to play to win one.If we lose the first one, be patient Vol nation we will get the 2nd one. I think the Vols will meet the challenge and advance to play for a national championship and win it! We just need to play clean defensively against FSU, make the plays that are routine and we should win 1 of the 2. As always, Go Vols! In Tony we trust!
I think AJ was too riled up and was having control issues more so than them having success but that’s just me

is how many times we will see and hear about the “check swing” from Friday.
I’d put the over/under at about 50.
They will complain non-stop, no doubt. I think our players will use it to our benefit. It will give the team incentive to put that nonsense to rest. The players will nip it…nip it in the bud.

Dude, you need to read end between the lines, 'THE STATS'! The errors were terrible. But, all runs were earned and UT had 9 walks. The pitching was bad! I don't see UT making the same mistake again. Hold the Noles to under 5 and UT definitely wins! Their pitching isn't that good and depleted somewhat now.
Two huge mistakes led to 4 free runs, and that is a fact. Whether they were mental errors or errors made by the official scorer, we gave free runs away. And yes, the walks were almost unimaginable, but most of those were due to that compressed strike zone.

Sick of FSU fans whining. Either call at the time would have been correct but they refuse to acknowledge they still gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

It’s not only that. They also scored 5 runs from the umpire not calling correct strike 3 calls.

The errors were responsible for some of the runs. I think Tennessee was a little tight at the beginning, but once they collected themselves, it was Tennessee at its best.

FSU got really lucky yesterday when Andrew Armstrong greatly exceeded their expectations with 4+ innings of work.

They likely need to find another guy on the bench who will do the same today. Except, Tennessee's offense greatly exceeds North Carolina's.

Perhaps FSU was planning on Tuesday being a committee pitching day and they kept with Armstrong in as he had early success. Perhaps this means they plan on starting Arnold today on 4 days rest today. Maybe the Armstrong surprise makes FSU make today a committee day and push Armstrong to Thursday?

FSU has middle relief issues due to having to fight through the losing bracket. If the Vols can get through the starter, and I have no reason to think they won’t. They will put up 10+ runs. Again.

The incoming weather may give them another day. Crazy how things seemingly all lined up in our favor are now changing for the worse. Weather giving FSU more rest plus injuries nagging the Vols. Just don't like the way this thing is lining up for us. Bad vibes growing.
I think we are in the proverbial Cat Bird seat

Well in the 9th they gave them 2 more chances….Snead laid 2 change ups in that were definitely strikes

Our guys were locked in. The emotional baggage from two years ago never got delivered. Maturity of their expectations for sure. Possibly after the first encounter being victorious might have us confident in knowing the opponent. Not cocky, but confident. Knowing the book on their pitchers out pitches didn't hurt either. Looking like A&M as they as they have stymied gayter bats. Dominant pitching will be challenging, but same had been said about other top pitchers we have faced. GO VOLS!
