Could you imagine being in one of those pools when that thing hit?
Back in 2017 or so, I was with some friends in Costa Rica for a bachelor excursion. A quake of ~6.5 magnitude hit about 15 km from the AirBnb we had rented. The pool (in-ground, went from 3ft to 8ft depth-wise) had about half the water left in it, and the hot tub (in-ground, but with the top at about 2ft above the pool deck) had pretty much all the water gone from it. Aside from losing power for a few hours and the tiki bar structure on the roof deck collapsing, there was minimal damage all things considered.
As high up as those pools were in the videos...that would've been a wicked ride. A substantial moment arm and force are powerful duo.
