The only schools with 7-8 Heisman winners are USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma. All four of those programs are better historically than Tennessee.

I agree but I think it is exaggerated and not true with everyone. On3 and Josh Pate, for example, speak highly of Tennessee. Saban (yes I said it) and McAfee general talk well of Tennessee. I think Herbstreit has at times as well. In the 1980s and 1990s, there was a general disrespect of the SEC in general and I think that was the origin of the SEC chant.

Eh, Pate blows smoke at UT fans occasionally so we’ll keep watching his show, but he consistently picks against or just completely disregards us most of the time. We win games with defense and our offense is “ho-hum.” Meanwhile, Texas does the same thing and he’s like “Wow, Texas can win games multiple ways, what a guy Sark is. ”
