The mantle is architectural rescue from a condemnation. It had water and smoke damage. Completely disassembled it and restored it. Started the fireplace work friday afternoon. Progress!!

The wood is beautiful! What is it? I can’t tell from the pic.

Its all oak. The mantle is quarter sawn oak which creates a grain pattern that is very distinct and pretty
