This is the little barn I'm finishing up this week. Its in Menlo Georgia.

I was supposed to go to Sylvester Georgia and reclaim an old train depot, but evidently the owner changed his mind. He won't answer or return my or my buyers phone calls. Oh well it happens.

I've got another barn to take down in Belvidere Tennessee. It came from a recommendation from a former customer of mine.

Then its off to Ohio. I have one in Waldo Ohio and another in Ada.

I'll try to post some pics soon.

You ever run into the TV guy, Mark Bowe and his crew?

I know Mark. I have talked to him a few times. He is as big.of a nut in person as on TV.

I tried to do some business with him. Honestly, I think he is wary of folks, thinking they might just want to be on TV. I could care less about tv. I wanted him to show me how he tags his log structures and makes his drawings. I was hoping that if I learned his way, and ran across some log structures, that I could dismantle, tag and draw it to his preferences and get a premium for them. We never seemed to be able to match schedules to where it worked. Haven't spoke to him in a few months now.

I may try again.

Mark's business model is way different than mine. He concentrates on the log structures. He makes his money in fixing it up and reselling it. Then makes a killing on assembling it. Barnwood is just extra money to him.

He was trying to capitalize on his recognition and branch out into furniture and flooring, but I'm not sure how far he got with it.

I do know he opened a showroom.

This a job that I thought faded away. The owner stopped taking phone calls. It was a job one of my buyers found and he was handling the customer side on this one.

Its an old train depot, I think its around 140 years old. It's down near Sylvester Georgia.

Well I got a call yesterday and its back on. They even have the permits ready. So it looks like I'm going down there before I go to Ohio. This will be a pretty easy job, no heights and its all easily accessible. Pull it, denail it, load it on my trailer and run it to my buyer 2 hours away.

Its all first growth/cut heart pine, which is getting harder and harder to find. Most of the material is 2x, so board footage adds up quickly and means more money for me. Even the wall boards are 2x8.

Just so you know.
Lumber is up 130% in the last 4 weeks and is running at an all time high. Not sure how that affects you. Just making sure you don’t lose out on profits that your buyers will be collecting

The reclaimed market is in a weird place right now. I know of some buyers that have yards full of lumber and can't sell it. Others are begging for wood. I'm guessing it depends on who the end user is. Retail is probably going strong, while manufacturing may be down.

My buyer is taking everything he can and I'm getting calls from other new buyers weekly.

something i did yesterday and today while home and my son recovering from wisdom teeth. We've had backyard drainage issues forever because of how our plot slopes. First step was to edge patio with gravel and a small channel drain with pvc the pushes water towards my eventual main drain which isnt done yet. That's part two. Tested water flow today and it seemed to work20200918_163351.jpg20200918_163357.jpg20200918_163331.jpg20200918_163337.jpg
