Things built, torn down and other projects.(Pictures)

Slice, would you travel to Mt Airy, NC to rebuild my kitchen if I buy the house I’m currently looking at?

Finally got to work on taking down the train depot in Sylvester Georgia. This little building is solid. Every board in it is dimensional except for the roof boards, 2x6, 2x8, 4x6, 6x6, and all heart pine. I think it was a freight depot, but it's hard to find any history on it.

I've stripped the walls And I am working on the roof decking. It's a pain in the a$$. It's 1 1/4 thick tongue and groove heart pine, 7 inches across the face. They nailed it down with 12 penny nails which means I have to be careful in pulling them out so it doesn't ruin the boards or bust them. This will be the slowest part of the job. I'll have about 5 days in just getting it off. There is right at 5000 board feet in the roof decking alone.

I stripped all the 2x8 off the walls in one day And they are already at my buyers place. 20210310_135134.jpg

I'm exhausted just seeing how much work you have already did. That is some beautiful wood

Good to see your post. Keep us apprised of your progress & yield. From 1994 to 2007, I owned a 50s brick ranch that had tongue & groove roof decking and subfloors.

It is. Heart pine is getting harder and harder to find.

My back is exhausted too. Lol

Today is day 5 on my hands and knees on this tongue and groove decking. The back of my knees have raw spots from the straps on my knee pads. If I never see another roof like this it will be too soon. Lol
