@Orangeslice13, under kitchen cabinets/counter top, where the dishwasher is installed, how deep should the surface flooring go?
I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking but when I tile or install wood floors I take the dishwasher out and put the same flooring under it.@Orangeslice13, under kitchen cabinets/counter top, where the dishwasher is installed, how deep should the surface flooring go?
I just dropped in on this discussion. So you are a floor installer? When my house was built the tile was installed before the cabinets in the kitchen. I was left about a dozen spares. Now after 15 years I'm almost out of those from replacing a few that cracked or came loose and I can no longer find matching tiles. When I eventually have the tile replaced, are tile installers able to use some sort of toe kick saw to cut the tiles around the cabinets so they don't have to be removed? I know it's easier during construction for the tile guy to lay the tile first and then the cabinets go on top but it's a pain when it's time to replace the tile. It seems like a bad idea. I would have thought most people change their flooring before their cabinets. Also, to postpone the tile replacement as long as possible, when I have to replace a tile now I've started trying to re use them If they aren't broken. It's a bear to remove the old mortar though. I've done it successfully a couple times with a dremel and a grinding stone but it takes forever and uses about 10 grinding stones. Any suggestions on how to remove it easier?I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking but when I tile or install wood floors I take the dishwasher out and put the same flooring under it.
