Things I'm happy about today

I'm just happy at being Home. With Family. Able to breath deep. Wake up in my own bed, no one sticking me with needles at 4am, no medline stuck semi permanently in my arm. Able to Enjoy and make a big deal of stuff like college football. Just a 1000% improvement over last year. I don't wanna sound like a broken record, but last year was just hell. Also happy that I had some of the best Dr's and Nurses I have ever known. Truly selfless people who were all stumbling about like zombies with 1000 yard stairs, they'd been on frontlines for 6 months of people dying, watching first hand as sometimes entire families died....those people literally have PTSD from last year. Talk to any nurse or Dr that was working the frontlines in the hospitals, and they got horror stories for you. Had some that got in the trenches with me, prayed with me, and are the reason I am still here to annoy you.

Thankful I was one of the lucky few that got to get this machine. because if it was not available it meant straight to Vent, and likely death. I was very aware there was a list of people who needed it while I was depending on it.

I did watch some of one of the games on my ipad when I got a little better. I could not tell you who we even played though.

I talked for a long time recently to a really good friend of mine who is a nurse in Denver. She talked about how they all had PTSD basically.

Got a calcium test the other day, (turns out counter intuitive to what I look like my ticker is doing great) and started talking to tech. He started to open up and tell war stories and people he saw die etc. Heart is a big deal on covid, as your heart goes through the roof when you have decreased lung function. I know I was over 140bpm resting for almost 3 weeks. So he was going to patients rooms to do tests etc. He literally broke down talking about it. This was a grown man, who was NOT a wimp.

Is that an ECMO machine?

No it's my hospital Bipap.... So if your having issues you first get oxygen hose from wall, once it gets beyond the liters that can be supplied by wall, you go to the Vapotherm for high velocity oxygen shoved in your lungs, sounds like you have jet engine in your head. .If that isn't enough, you either go to bipap or vent. Bipaps were in short supply. I was lucky enough to get one. People who went to vent directly have high mortality rate, you have to be intubated so you do not struggle choke etc on vent, but that same process means slowing down heart, which is desperately needed to breath....this is where most Delta deaths occured. I took Bipap to it's limits and was told I'd be on vent by end of the day, and dead in 48 hours. That's when I made my final calls to peeps. Luckily that didn't happen I stayed on bipap proning on the cliffs edge for a week or so.

So glad that you were able to pull through, thank the Lord :)

Tiffany and my dr been mad for two years because I refused a colonoscopy 🤣. They said if I'd do that cologuard crap, they'd leave me alone if nothing came back funny. Got the results, everything negative, now they gotta leave me alone for 5 years 🤣
