Ask them first what separates good employees from exceptional ones. Then you can speak to that when it’s your turn.

(Often they realize that they’ve never really thought that out before. You’ll be the one they remember as being interested in “exceptional.”)

It really isn’t bragging on yourself when you think about it. They need a Senior Widget Wrangler; you need a job and maybe Widget Wrangling is a good fit for you. Talking about what you’ve accomplished helps both of you predict if it’s a match.

Good luck in the hunt! And remember that you’re interviewing them as much as they’re interviewing you. I know tech is awful now, but working in a cray-cray environment is not good for anyone. Except the cray-crays, I guess.

You always make a fresh pot of coffee in the breakroom when you finish the old one is typically a game changer.
