Things I'm happy about today

Our house is officially paid off! We now are co-owners with the government because of taxes 🤣
Congratulations, that's awesome Joe! We paid ours off a few years ago and still have lots of projects to do. Got a few big ones on hold. The son graduates next May but then plans on going to law school and we're going to try to help him get through that without owing a house worth of loans when he's done, lol

I understand! We have a couple of things that we've been wanting to do, and plan on it slowly. Not having that payment will help, plus more overtime 🤣. Flooring, and a bathroom remodel is top two, I dread both 🤣.

I'll say we're a lot less stressed now and don't worry near as much if something bad financially happens (first thing we did was build up the bank account). That is a huge plus for us. We did our master bathroom first and I did all the work, but man it was tough. Working full time and only having the weekends, (took a couple days off) it took me about 8 weeks to complete. Next few we're looking at hiring someone to do it all, lol.

I'm wanting to get a walk in shower made, to help Tiffany. Our bathroom isn't really big at all, so though it'll cost, it won't be as much as a large bathroom. The floors, I've priced the flooring and it's not too bad, but I'll have to get someone to do that. My knee can't take it anymore. I done the house we rented when we got married (had free reign to do whatever, and got the flooring for almost nothing), but after breaking my leg, it's a no for me 🤣

If you only knew someone who did contract work.

My neighbor is partners in a tree company, very expensive down here. My in-laws paid like $3,000 to get two skinny pines cut. I talked to him today about the two trees in my backyard, first project on my list. I figured he'd give me a little break, but I'd rather use him to support their business, and they're good people. He told me he'd only charge to cover his crew and gas, told me what he'd normally charge, and it's about what I would've figured. Gonna save me a couple thousand getting him to do it.

Yes trees will cost you, I have spent over 5k cutting some of my trees.

Our shower is tiny, I'd like to make it larger, get rid of the tub.
